Today started out amazingly!!! Get to golf course, 1st hole is a 121 yard par 3! 1st swing of the day and I aced it!!! Did not even see it go in 😪😪😪
I hit it well and bent to pick up my tee, my buddy said  "Thats a good one" me being the smart ass I am put my hand up to my ear and said "yup, I heard it drop, Ace!" We gwt up further and my ball not on green, only possible place it could be is in the cup, sure as shit there it was!! I have had 6 Eagles, all on short par 4s with drivable greens, and this was my 1st ace!!!!

For many of us, eating wild plants comes naturally, taking its nascent form in our childhoods as we play and explore the outdoors: Wild Blackberries, Strawberries, Raspberries; picking a honeysuckle, pinching-off the bottom & drawing that sweet nectar from the flower, wild onion, Red Clover and many others.
As we grow older, modern society and the responsibilities of adulthood draw us away from this happy, healthy endeavor. 
Being in the Boyscouts, identifying plants, their likely habitats & companion plants, their practical uses as components for tools, medicine, food, shelter was really gratifying.  The increased competence enhanced my enjoyment of the wilderness, made me feel even more comfortable and confident in my surroundings.
Anyways, there's lots of good food out there for free & it's a pursuit and activity to which I've returned, folding it into my daily life and activities. 
This week I foraged some Milkweed, as it's one of the plants available this time of year.
Made a healthy snack from Common Milkweed unopened flower umbels(clusters)
A 30 second - 1 minute blanching in boiling water, steaming, or sautéing makes them very tasty.  
I like them with just a little cracked pepper & sea salt.
Every part of the plant is edible after you cook it.  Don't eat raw.
Its leaves are the sole food of Monarch Butterfly caterpillars, so I leave those plants be if I see one.
You'd be surprised the number of edible plants around you, throughout the year, not to mention medicinal value.

Last couple months has been hard with my medical issues and my brother in laws too,He passed away last monday....
So a couple more weeks i will be back whooping some ass......

It's been a busy week with Cool Change.
She got lettered finally.   My wife and I (and the dogs) spent most of the weekend scrubbing, cleaning and shampooing the carpets.  I think we scrubbed several layers of skin off our hands and fingers.  But she is starting to look really good.  Still have along way to go, though.  We had a chance this afternoon to drop the anchor in our favorite cove and just chill and enjoy a libation....or two.

A fun chat in the evening and Friends. Everyone thinks along with each other, looks at how each other is doing and asks when someone has not been seen for a while. I think that a reallly good thing.

Reading, painting, being creative, interior design, walking and nature.

But also investing in my mother’s business. She has a daytime activity for older people and takes care of them.
 

Well, I had a stroke last October and I’ve been in a rehab facility since then. I’m being released today and my cable should be turned on in my new apartment sometime next week and I can’t wait to see y’all again

Just wanted to put out a Little Shout out to our Junior Xi Members.. (well she's actual Adult so she just goes by as LilMord) LilMordy Just graduated with over atleast 2k High School Students This Bright and Early Morning, we had to get up and Ready about 5am get the kids down to Raleigh Conviction Center as early as 6:30 Am And wait for an hr, then it was Another hr and a half.  Everyone was Tired but They were Emotional and Excited All the Same time! Everyone was very Proud of the Girls Both Deanna & Maria Have Both Done an Excellent Job! And I just wanted to Share this with you Since you Are a great Part of Our lives!! If it wasnt for the Xi Fest (That Deanna wont stop talking about btw) and Meeting you guys have really brought Encouragement and Fun Time to hang out when we can. Cause I know our Lives can get Busy and Hectic, but time to Time we love to hang out and Shoot Each other in Game ... we Also Love to Enjoy Telling Family Stories As well... Thank you Xi For Being part of Our Family, if it Wasnt for you guys And Encouraging Us Each Day, have fun time and Giggle.. I dunno what Id do Really.. you Guys are So Great! Went to meet my new Granddaughter today and also had a good breakthrough with my 5.5 year old Granddaughter!
Quick backstory, Stormy was an asshole teen in and out of jail and got a gal preggers at 17, she knew I was not Father material at time into drugs and jail and just on a bad road in life so did the best thing for herself and the baby and left while still pregnant (and me in jail) by time my life got straightened out my son was about 7 or so and was being raised by another man and they told him HE was the father. I didnt want  to upturn his whole life and figured I did enough damage already not being there so left it all alone, well he contacted me about 7 years ago and we opened up dialogue and have been talking for years, i left the ball in his court as to meeting, his mother still denies to him that I am his Father and says we are all lying, quick DNA test proved he is mine so we met before Christmas for the 1st time (he is 29 now, 30 in a few weeks) and have met up about 4 times since and this was the 1st time the 5.5 year old opened up to us, called my Mom Gi Gi (short for great grandma) and gave me a hug when we left! 
Its all a weird situation that we all trying to make the best of, my son and his wife are so amazing in it all and have said these kids WILL know us as family and thats that! Such a sweetheart he married!
