Indeed it is Casper - in my experience anyway - although there does come a time when age-related factors slow you down. I recently transferred from being a COD4 admin to COD5 because I simply can't keep up with game speed on Ace Mod any longer; hard to admit that but whatcha gonna do? But I've no doubt that gaming has kept my reflexes as sharp as they can be for we old farts, and certainly keeps the synapses firing, particularly when some sum bitch sticks a knife in your back.

I was somewhere around level 18 in MW3 and over the weekend went into a dedicated free-for-all server where I saw I was recording thousands of points per kill. Didn't pay much attention to that and finally left. But the next time I fired up the game, I find I'm a five-star general at Level 80, however, I'm not getting anything unlocked past my "real" level of around 18. Is there any way to fix this? I don't want to rank up artificially, or, put the game at risk. Not quite sure what the hell's happened here. I may need to uninstall it and reinstall it, I guess. ??

Fourteen-year-olds who were frequent video gamers had more gray matter in the rewards center of the brain than peers who didn't play video games as much. European scientists reported the discovery Tuesday in the journal Translational Psychiatry. Psychologist Simone Kuhn of Ghent University in Belgium and colleagues recruited 154 healthy 14-year-olds in Berlin and divided them into two groups. Twenty-four girls and 52 boys were frequent gamers who played at least nine hours of video games each week. Fifty-eight girls and 20 boys were infrequent gamers, who played less than nine hours a week. Structural magnetic resonance imaging showed differences in the test subjects' brains. Frequent gamers had more gray matter in a portion of the brain known as the left ventral striatum, which affects the interplay of emotions and behavior. Previous research identified striatal function as a "core candidate promoting addictive behavior," the authors wrote. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), the team also observed changes in the kids' brains as they participated in a task that simulated anticipating and receiving a reward. They found that frequent gamers had greater brain activity when they were given feedback that they were losing. This is similar to a response seen in addicted gamblers, the authors noted, who have increased levels of the the brain chemical dopamine in the ventral striatum when they are losing money. The authors wrote that their study is the first to correlate changes in brain structures with video gaming. They couldn't determine if the frequent gamers' brains grew larger as a result of playing video games or if those kids were attracted to gaming because that part of their brain was enlarged in the first place; scientists will need to measure the effects of video gaming on structures in the brain over time to figure that out.

I'm with Bushape. This is the best COD release to date.

I'm running dual GeForce GTX 460s and thought MW3 was spectacular at 1920x1200. Then saw post on running at native resolution by checking advanced graphics settings. Indeed, I was set for "high." Changed to native and am blown away. If you GPU can handle it, you'll like it.

Felt the need to add this... We've had some Idiots say they've heard MW3 has problems, that it's not all it was hyped up to be. Just my opinion of course, but I've been gaming since the days of side-scrollers and I'm here to tell you that this is, without doubt, the best Call of Duty release ever. It simply couldn't be better. And graphically, it's incredible. This release finally gets us past the washed-out, duatone approach of previous first-person shooters. The colors are finally accurate; they are vivid and varied. It's a joy just to walk through the maps and observe the incredible detail. Buy this game. You won't regret it.

I hope more Idiots buy the game. It's lonesome in our DM server.

Had this come up today and found solution, so if it happens to you... Launch MW3 and Steam replies: "This game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time." - Launch Steam, go to Library, right click on MW3, go to properties. Then click on Verify Game Cache and this process will run. When completed, MW3 should launch.
