  6. Dear Technical Support, Last year I upgraded Girlfriend 1.0 to Wife 1.0 and noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. No mention of this phenomenon was included in the product brochure. In addition Wife 1.0 installs itself into all other programs and launches during system initialization where it monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Fishingweekend 10.3 and Bowlingbash 2.5 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected. I cannot seem to purge Wife 1.0 from my system. I am thinking about going back to Girlfriend 1.0 but un-install does not work on this program. Can you help me? Sincerely, Rugger Holyshit, Wisconsin ........................................ FROM: Technical Support TO: Rugger Sir: This is a very common problem men complain about but is mostly due to a primary misconception. Many men upgrade from Girlfriend 1.0 to Wife 1.0 with the idea that Wife 1.0 is merely a "UTILITIES and ENTERTAINMENT" program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and designed by its creator to run everything. It is impossible to un-install, delete, or purge the program from the system once it is installed. You can not go back to Girlfriend 1.0 because Wife 1.0 is not designed to do this. Some have tried to install Girlfriend 2.0 or Wife 2.0 but end up with more problems than the original system Look in your manual under Warnings-Alimony/Child Support. I recommend that you keep Wife 1.0 and just deal with the situation. Having Wife 1.0 installed myself, I might also suggest you read the entire system regarding General Protection Faults (GPFs). You must assume all responsibility for faults and problems that might occur. The best course of action will be to push apologize button, then reset button as soon as lock-up occurs. System will run smooth as long as you take the blame for all GPFs. Wife 1.0 is a great program, but is very high maintenance. Sincerely, Tech Support
  7. RAY................. How ya doin? Are you back to somewhat normal?
  8. News Report: The eagerly awaited release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 -- already billed by many as the video game of the year and clearly the most anticipated game of the season -- was greeted both with cheers and with violence across the country. Police in Aurora, Colo., said a man threatened to shoot Best Buy employees and even blow up the store when a copy of the game he had pre-ordered wasn't available. Aurora police spokesman Detective Bob Friel says Lomorin Sar was stopped early Tuesday after he left the store and was issued a summons for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Friel says Sar, 31, was at the store around midnight for a promotion surrounding the release of the PlayStation 3 game. "He threatened to carry out his own version of 'Modern Warfare' at the electronics store. Fortunately, this situation did not end in violence," Friel said. In Branford, Conn., malls reported broken glass, strewn garbage, and even vomit in the parking lot of a local mall where avid gamers waited for a fix of the new game. "When I got here this morning, I thought I'm going to have a heart attack," Dina Dunn, manager of a local GNC. said. "It was like, I was shocked. Tons of garbage all the way through the plaza." And in Kansas City, Mo., one man wanted a copy of the game badly enough that he was prepared to steal it at gunpoint. Police arrested the teenager Tuesday on charges that he followed a man from a local GameStop, pulled a gun on him and tried to steal his copy of the game. The would-be robber fled -- but allegedly returned the game, straight into the hands of waiting authorities.
  9. An Idiot through and through - Welcome!!
  10. Go into Options and enable servers. You'll then see Servers in multiplayer. Don't know where our server is located but I get a great connection. As to game type, I'll blow you Rugger at Fest 2012 if you make it free-for-all.
  11. Chile, you dick Thanks for sticking with it boss. Wish I could help.
  12. Have a GREAT one...
  13. Got it. Thank you sir!
  14. I had set up a gaming name in Black Ops via Steam and when I installed MW3 it's using the same game name, except it's too long and cuts off the >XI<. Can you change your game name in Steam without a lot of hassle?
  15. I shooted him in the balls...
  16. Easy install and setup; as others have said, an upgraded COD5 for the most part. Graphics are very nice - take a bit of getting used to. Game play is quick, weapons OK; all-in-all, a smooth, nice-looking game with acceptable speed. I like the game and will pretty much be playing this - and COD5; BF3 doesn't quite do it for me and a touch of arthritis is slowing me down in the fast-paced COD4 DM server. I hope our MW3 server is free-for-all or I'll be elsewhere. Expensive, but I'd say worth the money. As to map packs, whatcha gonna do? I'll buy them.
  17. Welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Yo Casper - we're the same age you old fart and hope the radiation went well and that's taken care of. Welcome; cya on the servers...

  22. Yes, and I have. But Alienware systems have a "command center" that takes control of certain OS utilities like power options - when to shut off monitor/put system to sleep, etc. - and if you manually install display drivers that have not been modified to work with command center, those functions don't work. It's not a problem; BF3 complains about outdated drivers but still launches. It's just a pain to have to close that warning window when I launch the game. Also, last time I manually installed drivers, couldn't get SLI to work until I reloaded Nvidia drivers retooled by DEll for Alienware.
  23. Very simple. They want the fruit of your labors.
  24. Not that problem but everytime I start BF3 it complains about outdated Nvidia drivers. Problem is I have an Alienware system and the drivers must be modified for it else the system won't auto shutoff, etc. Last time Dell modified Nvidia drivers was March.
