Thanks Renegade. I see that this is an ATI graphics board. Can i install my nvidia card on this board? i've never been clear on that aspect.

Looking for feedback on a decent motherboard to go with. Got a birthday coming up so i need to give my wife some suggestions. hehe I am looking for a mobo to move some of my existing hardware onto so i can use my new graphics card that doesn't fit into my current gateway pc. grrr (good pc out of the box but for upgradeability, gateway proprietary crap). anyway, board needs to accommodate an AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor, DDR2 memory, have PCI-e 2.0, and preferably 10/100/1000 Lan. Got a low budget so also needs to be under $100. I have been doing a lot of searching so just wondering what experiences others have had with certain boards and brands. Thanks everyone.

Very nice Renegade. My budget has kept me a little lower on the graphics side so I have gone with the EVGA GTS 450 (picked up for under a $100). Upgraded from an 8600 GT XXX. The GTX 460 is a nice card too there Belted. Cheers all.

I have made some changes to a few lines that deal with network max connections and network pipelining mainly to tweak pageloading performance. As Shamu noted though, do some research as making the wrong change can adversely affect browser operation. I've been using Firefox 4 since the betas. Aside some of the addons not working at the moment, at least until the developers catch up, I like some of the features that come with it. Has a little cleaner look, can hide the traditional menu bar at top (accessible by hitting the Alt key), and i do find it is a bit quicker with page loading (which i find firefox always been good for). all in all, like Deejaykeg said, if you have 3.6, worth the upgrade.

Welcome to the XI forums GhostfaceJim. Enjoy the games. Admins do a pretty decent job with the map rotations so to stay on top with the latest maps in rotation rather than downloading on the fly, download and use the XIdownloader.

You will find a great bunch of guys and girls here and helpful if you run into any gaming or other tech issues. i might also suggest getting their XI Downloader program for getting the latest server maps rather than download them during the game. What version of windows are you using? are you using windows media center or just the media player?

Proceed with caution, gawking at the wrong breasts could shorted your life span too. lol

your HP case is classed as a mid-size ATX so a standard ATX PSU should be ok. However, before buying any PSU, double check the physical dimensions (heigth, width, and depth) to make sure it would fit properly. If you need to, measure the size you have now and that will give you an idea to what you can fit in your case. as others have stated, don't go to cheap and go with a bit more power than you may need right now with thinking of future upgrades. modular cableing is also nice and clean but not necessary and look for one that has a 6 pin PCI-E power connector.

Got it and installed, running windows 7 pro. only issue was that is took a couple of attempts to download through windows update but other than that, all is good.
