I am an AMD guy, I build intel systems for our engineering and servers at work, the I7 processor fucking ROCKS The stock cooling on them sucks ass so plan on a aftermarket one. But you can buy a I7 processor for around 300.00 (sandy) I think it is well worth it. My little AMD 6 core I have on my home system is pretty stout tho. I also have went away from ASUS MoBos tho, not been too impressed lately with them, I have been running ASRock boards and they are rock solid

I have been running it for a few weeks, it is noticeably faster than windows 7 at most task, it boots up faster. The interface is something you have to get used to, I know people that went from XP to 7 bitched about the diff and it was small in comparison, so I am not shocked at the response, most people don't like learning something new. and as I said, games work fine if you don't have to run punk buster

the only problem I have with windows 8 and games is punkbuster, wish they would get off the friggen dime and fix it. It is not a windows8 problem as much as it is a punkbuster problem, Lord knows they never caused problems before....he says with tongue firmly in cheek

I found this in the microsoft windows 8 forum Hi As a owner of a COD4 game servers all our members that had window 8 including my self had the same problem you would play on the server for 1-2 minutest only to get the following error iw3mp.exe has stooped working. We have resolved this problem by making changes to our Game Server (punk buster is still active!) so far all our admins that have windows 8 have not been kicked out. Our game server IP is************(AU) so until iw3mp is officially resolved you are more that welcome to play on our .**. Clan server. If the above post breaches any conduct rules please remove this post. It seems there are some adjustments in punkbuster server side that will resolve this issue. many posters on that forum went and played on the above server with Win 8 (COD4) with no issues I hope that this peaks interest

I do a lot of IT work, I installed it because I figured I would be dealing with it sooner or later, as I did Vista. I ran Vista here for a year or so, had it working fine, not in the beginning tho

I picked it up for 39.00 and d/l it from Microsoft, still av until the end of the month for that price, after that you will have to pay full price. It takes getting used to, but I build and maintain computers, including a pretty good size network. So I need to have hands on with as many OS I can.
