Just installed Windows 11 on my laptops with the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. Not liking the new start menu, seems to take longer to get where you want to go. Was a pretty painless install though, kept everything I had installed- apps and drivers.

All my pc’s meet the requirements for secure boot and TPM. Processors are the problem. Anything below 8 series won’t get updates on W11. Through testing MS also confirmed that unsupported cpu’s had 40% more kernel crashes than supported ones.

Hard to find a good shop anymore. Last time I got new tires the tech broke 2 studs off. Was too close to quitting time, was told to return the next day in the morning. On the way home 6 more studs broke off. Decided to fix myself, did not want them touching my truck anymore. Returned the next day and told them what happened, said that they were embarrassed. Refunded money for parts and labor and got mounting, balancing and rotations for life, means nothing because I won’t be returning. There are lots of shortages from the pandemic, except for morons.

PC’s with unsupported cpu’s will not be able to upgrade, have to install manually from iso. Will not receive Windows updates or driver updates. Microsoft has said (from testing) that unsupported pc’s had 42% more kernel crashes than supported ones. Could change again, who knows. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/windows-11-wont-update-after-installation-with-unsupported-cpus.html https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/windows-11-may-be-installed-on-a-variety-of-older-cpus.html

I have had problems with Intel 1211 on W10, problem with drivers would be my guess too. Works ok on one of my laptops but there are already W11 drivers for the NIC on that one.

Ms-gamingoverlay link; turn off Windows Game Bar, settings/ gaming/ game bar ”could not find zone”; zone errors are commonly caused by corrupt Windows system files. Run command promp as admin and type in sfc /scannow and let it scan to 100%, see if it repairs any system files. If it says “no integrity violations found” I would try reinstalling the game. If on steam verfy game cache.

What happens when you click “No”
-
Pretty sure you would need your original cd key to use your current profile. Verify game cache to make sure everything installed correctly.
-
I think that means the game didn’t quit properly the last time it ran. Did your game crash recently?, have you rebooted yet? Make sure none of your settings have changed especially sound, no higher than 24bit 48000 Hz.

"Device Requires Further Installation" Issue
Tw33tle_Dee replied to Lelandleo's topic in Computer Help
I don't actually have that camera. Image was just to show what I think Lelandleo was referring to. In my case I get this error after installing Intel graphics drivers with the auto install .exe and installing the driver manually through device manager fixes it for me. -

I get no flags in device manager, error is under events tab under properties. This is the same that happens to me. -

I've had this with Intel graphics drivers. Seems to do it with the auto install. Installing manually from device manager clears the error for me. -
No change coming for system requirements; https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/system-requirements-for-microsoft-windows-11-remain-unchanged.html

The location will depend on your UAC settings. Show hidden files and folders. For me my files are located here; Username/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files (x86)/Call of Duty/uo/uoconfig and uoconfig_mp. My UAC settings are default. I changed these settings both for single and multiplayer.

1. Seta r mode “-1” 2. seta r_customwidth xxxx customheight xxxx 3. seta com_introplayed “1” 4. seta r-ignorehwgamma “1” Set wide screen resolution in config, not the game. For me brightness was broken. With these settings my game runs perfect, loads quick and no black screens.

https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2021/06/28/update-on-windows-11-minimum-system-requirements/ Last paragraph- MS is forgoing the TPM 2.0 and cpu generation minimum requirements to see how W11 does on older hardware, then change the minimum system requirements accordingly.
