I Have a friend with this issue and her doctor said to avoid seeds,,she has and no flare up,,I think the difference is in what causes and what gives flare up or make it worse. If you were to read the Mayo Clinic article I linked, it clarifies & updates that belief that nuts cause diverticulitis; it specifically says that the newest results from several studies in recent years shows that nuts do not cause the condition, as previously thought.

Please show me a link to any reputable source that claims seeds are clingy & cause cancer, because they become stuck in your digestive system. Your digestive system is lined with mucous, & anything indigestible is passed through. Can you imagine how much corn would be stuck in cysts in our gut? You've eaten corn on the cob right? You've seen the undigested seeds in your poop, right? They didn't stay stuck in your gut, right? And yes, please feel free to provide a link or links when you make some kind of definitive medical claim like 'Undigested seeds get stuck in yer gut & cause cancer because they're clingy."
