I might recommend this, Save a little more for a while and build you a decent computer with lots of expand-ability. I built this last one and i'm using it over three years now on win 7, And have never had one problem ever. And can run everything turned up, And all i have ever done since is update my graphics card, and that was just this Christmas. At the time i only put about a 1000 in to it.. I still have mem slots left and and go with new chips and still just update piece by piece if i want.. Just something to consider. Good luck..

Besides pluging in to the motherboard, there is also the second plug for power, Make sure its not as simple as not plugging it in, Having two bad cards in row is unlikely ,, It really cant be more then bad power supply or bad drivers, And on board video will be overridden when you plug in new card, so don't go worrying about anything in bios.
