  1. Paste this into google. There are some pages there that list possible reasons why this is happening and possible solutions. Fatal Error could not load material 'Sdefault' GetLastError ()=0
  2. Make sure you have all the updates for the tools. Assuming you made your map with them. I know the last one had updates to radiant.
  3. If you go to various places comparing chips you will see how overclocking makes temps jump really high really fast. Which is why they often have various methods of extreme cooling.
  4. .........................................
  5. Guess it depends on a lot of factors. My i5 6600 (not overclocked) and also with an h110 hardly ever goes above 45C even under %100 load for extended periods. However I live in a coastal environment where its moderate temps most of the year so that likely has an effect.
  6. Way too young. Condolences to the family.
  7. Then again, I am sure you put even more $$$ into those cars to keep them running.
  8. 256 minimum. 128 will fill up fast. Especially if you dont also have an hdd. Im currently using 120 out of 256 but I have no games at all on it. Just windows and various programs. I also dont use it for storage except some of the more recent downloads before I trash what I dont want and move the rest off of it.
  9. Hehe ok. Yes I know it was under $1000. I made an alternate that was a little more expensive but will serve better in the long term and cover more bases. If short term cost is an issue, and current games on ultra is not an immediate requirement, the intel chips coming soon will have gpus that will do just fine for most things. So if need be getting a dedicated gpu can wait. edit: Yes nothing wrong with waiting on stuff like the cooler. Use the stock one for now and get something better later. SSD capacity depends on what kind of programs you plan to install and how big they are. A second HDD is also useful for keeping seldom used programs instead of filling up the primary. My games are on a black wd drive since I dont play them all that much.
  10. 1000w is overkill for a standard build.
  11. More expensive that what you have in mind and it also includes some rebates. Yes rebates do often come through. But it also takes a different approach and includes some extras. Depends on whether or not $1000 is a hard number of a guideline. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wyYvqk Yes I prefer win7pro. However compared to win10pro its an extra 50 bucks. Depends on what kind of control you want. And whether or not you think win10 spies on you.
  12. Get an inexpensive single-fan corsair water cooler. The case is already designed for it. A bitch to install especially with pci cards because of the hoses but very efficient and quiet. The picture shows how it will be organized. Not for overclocking but if you plan to do anything at full load for extended periods like video compression. It can push every core to %100 for hours. Software included for controlling the fan to turn it way down or way up as needed. Get a bluray burner. Not so much for writing but for reading. See above for video compression and if you plan to backup your bluray collection and/or make it available for streaming. I back up the really important stuff like imported anime. Which isnt cheap. Or out of print items. For a drive, might want to just get a 500gb ssd for window and programs to save a bit of money. Depending on whether or not you plan to have lots of games that require 20gb each. Then a second cheap large capacity hdd for general storage of data. For PSU, when you decide what you want there are many power calculators online telling you what you will need. You can also add in potential future items to see what you will need later. Bronze is a minimum. Gold is better. Where I live the difference in cost between tier one and two is big and every little bit helps especially when you are on a budget. Since you wont be doing this until april, I assume, not worth checking out prices right now. Just what you plan to do and with an eye towards NOT having to upgrade in a year.
  13. Next gen Intel chips out in January. MBs to use them soon after that, or I assume the usual bios updates. So I would wait until then and for prices to settle before making any purchases. Might be some nice bargains.
  14. Intel or AMD? Going to overclock? What size case?
  15. I like my 960. But its also a tiny bit dated for those that want the latest and greatest every year. However if you need to wait a bit on a gpu due to the cost the next gen Intel chips, out soon, will have pretty good graphics unless you need to max out everything on every game.
  16. Thx. I've started playing KoF on my PC+DS4 and its pretty fun. Tho I am mostly mashing the buttons until I learn how to actually play. Take out the clones and 2000 would be in the far far reaches. All the well known classics but also lesser known games. Kinda hooked on panicbomber atm. I have to research more on what its mame version will support. For a minipc I would rather save that money for a simple htpc after the new chips are out and the prices settle.
  17. Happy Thanksgiving!
  18. Anyone actually use a Pi for this? In keeping prices down if this would work with 80s-90s games it would help having to get a mini pc. I tried getting the android versions working on my firetv and no go. They are old versions anyways. Lots of people say 'yes' to Pi, I think with Linux, just seeing if anyone here did it. To play these games a minipc would be more than enough but pricey. I had no idea even old mac minis were still quite a bit of money. The design idea I have been sketching out, for factors such as location, size and stability, would only allow a minipc or smaller.
  19. I had to save the Lara shot. All the dogfights are cool and excellent fx but the mountain views are hard to beat.
  20. I stopped at 16 seconds. I can see whats coming and cant bear to watch.
  21. Also, AMD temps tend to run a lot higher at load. My last chip was a phenom x4. It was a nice one for what I needed. But I had to be careful to watch them when doing intensive stuff like video compression. Cut down on the number of threads etc to keep it manageable. I dont think specs on that came out for their new chips.
  22. i5 6600. Best performance/money ratio. Dont bother with the k unless you are going to overclock. However next gen intel processors will be out soon. Probably after christmas. So prices will likely drop.
  23. Yup no tags means you are in the same boat as the common folk.
  24. Look in 'players->profile->(yourprofilename) if you just want one. Probably might work by simply saving the entire players folder and putting it back after reinstall.
  25. If the server is full, but someone is also downloading, then game limitations prevent those players from being counted in how many are there for automatic redirect checks. However if a player can join then yea 'non-clan' AFKs are kicked. Who gets kicked depends on how long they have played in the server. Non-clan regulars have priority.
