  1. Not interested. Will use the money for some other game thats different from the franchise. Still waiting for the DayZ standalone. The only zombie game I am actually interested in.
  2. I was watching some vids on youtube about gaming and the different ways developers try to deal with keeping people from rage quitting. One of the options, as often seen in BF, is that you spawn farther away from the action and have to get back. Usually by vehicle if you can get it. The idea is so players can cool down. The commentator mentioned that there could be a safe-zone of sorts, which a few games do, where players can go and chill for a few without actually leaving the game. He mentioned something called Crush Crush. Never heard of it. Looked it up and it is a Steam game. I checked it out, and then said..... are you fucking kidding me??? http://store.steampowered.com/app/459820/
  3. Hope he has home owners insurance. Not that it would cover this anyways.
  4. Steal it back.
  5. Bolt rifles? In cod4?
  6. Anyways. Long term it is no longer about tweaking gameplay. "Fixing" things. Offering a 'pro' option, which is another way of saying basic. Better graphics or sound. New weapons, gadgets or other goodies. New abilities. Not even simply new maps or new gametypes that run on them. What can MW4 do thats actually new and different? BF is trying WWI. Weeee. Same game just 'back to basics' in the same setup. More or less. I hate made up phrases like paradigm shift. Developers say their latest game is 'revolutionary'. But what is needed is a revolution. There, my highly opinionated post of the day and I didnt even mention anyone with a name that has a capital 'T' in it. edit. Cross cod with planetside 2 with some more npc/rpg/squad elements and, since it has the franchise name, there is money to be made.
  7. A 3-minute round on small maps with sniper rifles only sounds like an m40/acog quick scope match. A hate quick scopers.
  8. dadda, the file on the server and redirect do not match. edit: That was the mw2 server sry will check the other.
  9. People seem to forget that, at the time, cod4 on the PC had its fair share of obnoxious players. But it was easier to deal with them with admin privileges. Map packs also cost money now... more than for sheer profit... because these days they are much more complex to produce if you want them to look good. All the various internal tools needed are much more complicated. Some of them are proprietary belonging to other companies that want money. So it makes no business sense to give them away for free. So while the packs may be overpriced, or maybe not, they are no longer going to be free. That can be a good thing tho. Now that they cost money we can expect and demand more out of them. If the maps suck we dont just say 'hey its free'. We complain, loudly. The in-game transaction idea with real world money, with the money going to the developer, is total profit however. So far they are only cosmetic in this franchise. You cant buy anything that actually increases your power. As it is now I dont see a change in that, with money for improved weapons, without backlash and affecting the player base. Personally, Im bored with military FPS's. I think the FPS as we know it is a dying genre. Not without a major change that focuses on an actual global community in the style of WoW. Or an RPG. A single world filled with NPC's and dedicated squads (8 players max) not random teams. Attack and kill NPC's to get XP and items. Or... focus instead on going after other squads, killing them all, and stealing their items. Then sell them in-game for new equipment. As used items of course. Then again, if you lose, they steal yours. It promotes full squads among friends to avoid 8 on 1 battles. Unless, if you work alone, you are very very careful. Certainly that is monthly fees. But if the game is big enough, and addictive enough, it could be more than enough to run all the infrastructure and make a tidy profit. Especially since such a game could last years. Not months. Oh and provide ways that players can do something to get the monthly fee waived. This is not for the casual 'hop on hop off' player.
  10. Seems a lot has to do also with how careful you are with them. If you throw them around then they need to be beefier in their construction. But if they never leave your desk then more options might be available. I agree, get a headphone amp. Even a basic one is better than realtek. Just to note, I have read that there can be sound degradation if you have things amped up by both the card and the headset. Best to only do only or the other. But thats just internet reading. For gaming vs studio. I paid $100+ for my standard headset. I dont have a lot of money to spend on such things. Not a great one certainly but supposed to be good for its class. My gaming set, which cost a bit less, sounds significantly better for some reason for both games and music. At least to my old ears. So its a crap shoot and there is no substitute for actually listening to them. edit. the $100 set were on a good sale so retail was around $150 at the time.
  11. I dont recall the name but there was a very sarcastic British comedy film about bumbling suicide bombers. Certainly a taboo subject. Using them for comedy. But it was well done.
  12. Its actually a great game. But its not arcade and you have to really pay attention to every detail. Most people dont want to do that. The trend in AAA titles has been to make them easier not harder. Just with more tricks.
  13. Yes things like that are possible. However I wont be doing much modding for a long while. Currently we are having to make a huge number of costly repairs to the house. Too much got put off over the years and it shows. A few of which basically means packing up everything into storage and moving out for at least three weeks. Termite/beetle tenting. Then the floors and they want everything in the house out. Repairs and painting the exterior. And since I will be doing most of the packing myself that means my days are shot and tired in the evenings. Took a short break to check email and messages. In a few back to the salt mines and a little more packing before I have to make dinner.
  14. I dont care who you are. Thats funny.
  15. Since you mentioned Darth Vader, and to maybe turn everything into a kinder, gentler thread, only three more months.
  16. He's just being anti-establishment. It's all the rage these days.
  17. Oh booooys. Lookie what I got here. So many quotes of his that will live on for a very very long time.
  18. Catch-22 I suppose. You cant express your views without being accused of only doing it to get in the media. But, this is 2016 so maybe he is. Thing is, you make him sound like Kanye West. A superstar Kaepernick is not. But he does have 'some' talent.
  19. Shes a brick... house..... See if anyone gets that reference.
  20. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_OBIT_GENE_WILDER?SIT One of the best and may he RIP.
  21. I remember those IBMs. Very well built. Those keyboards can still fetch a hefty price if they are mint.
  22. Maybe its just me. But I just cant read paragraphs that dont use punctuation.
  23. How do you upgrade it?
  24. You watch too much Fringe.
