  1. Removed. Restart to update rotation. I know what the problem is for all the checksum errors but dont know why. Something about how the server is starting up is different. Other priorities take precedence.
  2. Edit to above. This will require a fairly significant new mod. If enough players commit to sign up and participate to the end, or until they die, I will make it up.
  3. Battle Royale Tournament A competitive tournament idea for XI with elimination rounds and a final. No teams. FFA gametype with modifications. Is your competitive spirit and skill good enough to make it all the way through and win the prize? Can you work all alone without backup? Without bunny hopping? Or do you just want to run around with an SMR, lay claymores and drive little cars all day with nothing to show for it except the number of K/D on a scoreboard until is it erased and forgotten before the next map? The gametype is as much about hunting and stalking your enemies, knowing your environments, and not relying on respawning/regenerating as it is about the usual point and shoot or spray. Not your typical TDM run&gun match in a small map. Only XI members or well-known non-members allowed. No ghosting or any other unfair advantages outside of established game rules. Once all players are signed up the first round randomly pairs off all players into 1 vs 1 FFA matches. Both may be the same classes. They may not. However the admin picked maps will be chosen accordingly for balance so neither has an unfair advantage. The victors of those matches face each other in the second round of 1 vs 1 FFA matches. The victors of those matches all go to a final round with winner take all. Example: 32 players sign up. Round 1 narrows the field to 16. Round 2 narrows the field to 8. Those 8 players meet in a single match to determine the winner. The winner of the competition wins a free copy of BO3 or BF4 premium (online game code). Perhaps a $50 Steam/Origin credit. Depends on what the clan wants to work out. Maybe to make it interesting each contestant should contribute an extra $1 entry fee as a clan donation. The winner gets the pot. Note: If the number of signed up competitors dont match the division setup (32/16/8) there will be wildcards (chosen at random) in an early round before round 1. They will be outfitted only with an MP5 (no attachments) and sidearm in a mid-sized map. The winners of these matches will be allowed to change their classes before round 1. Basic Rules: No respawn. Once dead you are out. No spawn protection or disabled weapons at start. No explosives except for frag grenades. A single class + loadout is chosen before the tourney starts. The chosen class + loadout remains for the entire tourney. WEAPONS TBD. SOME STOCK SOME CUSTOM. Loadouts are standard: 1 primary, 1 secondary, 1 frag, 1 tactical, multiple specialties. Player speed/jump is normal with class weight modifiers in effect unless Lightweight is chosen. All players start with 100 health points. No health regen but multiple health packs will be given. Headshots are always instakills regardless of health. No dead-player weapon pickups. Anti-bunnyhopping / Anti-dolphindiving in effect. No killstreaks. Maps: Maps are chosen by admins before the matches with an eye towards balance for player skills and their loadouts. Players will know beforehand which maps they will be fighting on. For example, in a sniper vs specops match the map will be balanced for both. It would be unfair to ask a specops player to fight a sniper in a wide open map with no cover or hilly terrain. In a specops vs specops match the map will not be as large. Map sizes for 1 vs 1 will be that of the typical stock map but with some flexibility. The map for the final round will be much larger. Final Match Rules: On match start all players will spawn in protected and distant areas away from all other spawn points. Every 10-15 minutes (subject to change) a satellite scan will record all current player locations on the HUD. Markers remain on the HUD at that location and and a time-till-next scan timer is included. It would be best to move your position after the scan. Markers are coded to player classes. Meaning, LMG marker icons are different from sniper icons. This is to help with knowing what kind of enemies players are going after and how to attack them or defend. Specops vs Specops wont have to worry as much about being sniped from afar unless there is third player nearby with that class, as shown by marker at previous locations. Keeping in mind that the longer the time since the last scan suggests how far away that player might have moved since. Modifications: Snipers have no-sway. This is due to an inherent bug in the sway system. For balance, snipers have damage modifications depending on stance. Kneeling players do normal damage. Standing players do %75 damage. Prone players do %125. (MIGHT TWEAK THIS) No acog. Silencers available (except for .50). The P90 slightly rebalanced. Competitive mods consider the P90 overpowered and too accurate at long ranges for an SMG class weapon. Opinions are welcome on how to maybe do things differently for the fun factor. But as a competitive mod they should not be the kinds of things that would turn the entire match into a 3-minute CQ R&G / Spray&Play fest. Nor a sniper/assault only game. An idea I had: The 1 vs 1 matches are the best 2 out of 3. Either a single map with up to three rounds or three different maps. If interested, post here and send Rugger&myself a PM so we can keep track of a signup sheet. The wildcards would work the same as the round 1 matches but classes are allowed to be changed before round 1 begins. Thanks for reading and your consideration.
  4. I really havent either. But from what I understand it is meant to keep things simple in terms of weapon choices. Few if any perks. No strange tweaks like double jump height. No bunny hopping. Mainly to keep it about skill as much as possible. Also a few weapon tweaks for weapons that are considered unbalanced like the P90 or the M40A Acog. Also, initially when there was a much larger player base all servers that participated in promod were required to be exactly the same. That way you can play on different servers, say as clan vs clan, and all combined stats from all servers would be considered fair without any unfair advantages.
  5. Just means some people know their limitations and how they would lose in a pro match.
  6. Origin is supposed to have an offline mode for SP. At least I remember seeing that about BF3 somewhere.
  7. athena removed due to checksum error. Admins post when server is restarted to update the map rotation. Thx.
  8. There is something to be said for simple slow paced games that require patience and skill. Not just gun accuracy but how to search for and hunt down your opponents in a big area. Also more than just running around like a headless chicken in a small map without a care in the world knowing you will respawn. When you're dead, you're dead. You dont pass GO nor collect $200.
  9. I would like to see a battle royale style tourney. But with some things like a uav scan every 10 minutes updating everyone's current position at that moment which is then saved for reference. And big maps to allow lots of movement. However those that are killed first would have nothing to do but watch.
  10. Imagine if people had to play this game with P2P and hosting.
  11. I suppose the biggest question to ask is whether or not people would get bored with it. There are a couple other gametypes that would be really cool but unless there is constant and relatively fast paced action with lots of goodies it wouldnt work.
  12. This is how it should be. Players tend to do better with some weapons than others based on their style of play. It doesnt take much. Could even simply be the size of the weapon on your screen. Maybe the length of time it takes to raise the weapon after you sprint. Many more things as well that all affect how accurate a player is. If they didnt there would be no need for them all. Just make one gun that works the same for everything and switch out the gun model. Glad you found one to your liking that fits yours.
  13. You dont have to worry. Nor would you immediately have to blame the mod or the server when things dont work right because of it.
  14. Just dont make Canadians mad with the complaints. Well, some complaints.
  15. Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel?
  16. No just you.
  17. I guess that would stand for eleven, or nine. Depending on which way you are facing them. I guess it also raises the question. Do you raise the balls on a pin before striking them hard? Just remember. The less accurate you are with your balls the more often you have to strike them to reach the hole.
  18. How many people can say they have their name printed on their balls?
  19. I kinda suspected that. Generally, dvars with 'cg' arent allowed to be messed with by clients. But it was worth a shot.
  20. Yea, the 'hudMap' part. Try messing around with these and see what they do. Havent tried them myself but are likely what you want. The listed values should be the defaults. cg_overheadIconSize "0.7" cg_overheadNamesFarDist "1024" cg_overheadNamesFarScale "0.6" cg_overheadNamesFont "2" cg_overheadNamesGlow "0 0 0 1" cg_overheadNamesMaxDist "10000" cg_overheadNamesNearDist "256" cg_overheadNamesSize "0.5" cg_overheadRankSize "0.5"
  21. Oh man. Best wishes to all of you. Unfortunately its one of those things that you likely never get over %100. Goes without saying, but at nights do not breathe in cold air. Even if you have nice blankets and down quilts.
  22. It's been awhile since I had to do it but I think the in-game way doesnt allow the >< characters.
  23. I dont know if there is a max character limit but I am pretty sure you need to get into your player profile and manually change the name.
