  1. Yikes. Another sign to never, ever, open a zip file or exe from an email. Avast has an option that asks you whether or not to execute a program. I assume this would help and if some program you didnt open wants to run say no.
  2. Moved the server this week to Team Defender and stock maps. If people would prefer some other game type or other maps let me know.

  4. I agree someone didnt like his critique. I have seen quite alot of his reviews and such but never heard of the company in question.
  5. Uh that would be me. It is not just score alone. Otherwise players who have been on the server for 20 minutes and got 10 kills... either a sniper or just not very good... would get kicked instead of a player that was on for 5 and got 15 kills. We already went through all of this months ago. The balance as it currently stands is the most fair but far from perfect. I have rewritten it enough times and am not interested in doing it again. If you are downloading a mod or map and want to stop early open up the console and type /disconnect.

  7. Unless I am mistaken Razor keyboards these days, or maybe its just mice, require installing a service that must be connected to the internet at all times if you want to customize anything.
  8. Minimum specs says you need 6gb ram and 50gb hard drive space. Mostly due to textures.

  10. For awhile now I have had requests from various people to add a sniper gametype to the mod. Now running on the server, with changes to come depending on how it plays out. Instead of the usual where the other four classes (assault etc) are disabled there are 11 pre-set kits to choose from. Each is unique from the other with different specialties and you can choose whichever best suits the map and your style of play. The maps are relatively big. None of the no-crossing or mirror types. Several 'mice' maps and various open terrain or urban ones. No explosives except for one frag. No streaks. Testing out different spawn methods, either near team or forced start. Spawn protection 30 seconds right now. Use it to move to a new position. Health is balanced based to where there are no one shot kills with an M21 to a leg or arm. No sway. Its all about patience, searching, movement and accuracy. If there is a different kind of kit that anyone would like, within the allowable perks, please let me know and I will see if I can add it. There is room for a few more. The various names of the gametype and kits will change but are good enough for now until something more catchy comes along.   11. The 400fx limit is due to being overbudget on the number of fx compiled into both the map and the mod. When added together that is the max allowed. Same limit in cod4.
  12. Ah ok. There is another one that sounds similar that is a clan-only mod hard coded to their server internet address.
  13. I dont think war_ops is a publicly released mod. But I thought it was cod4 so I might be thinking of another one.
  14. If they use me to endorse a product what is my cut? This is why only a few places that have internet sites have my real data. All business related. Certainly nothing like Facebook, which I dont have anyways. If they want Joe Schmoe, who was born in 1910 and lives in Alaska, to advertise some product then go ahead.
  15. SledgeHammer and Co @ Openwarfare.com Sledge isnt involved in the mod anymore. He just hasnt had the time with family and all. So any issues with the DM/TDM test server PM me. I dont think this map is on its rotation but I will look. Eventually the main server will move to this one as soon as we all know there are no problems or if anyone tells me it needs tweaking after playing it.
  16. For 'new' games BO was the last. Or was it BC2. I actually forget which came first. Never really play either anymore. But within the last few months I did pick up a Civ3-4 pack from a Steam special and BF2.
  17. Sounds like when that happens there are alot of dead players very quickly. So anything created related to player death will build up fast.
  18. Took out pb frost. Its actually a great sniper snow map but might be a little big for 8 players except for sniper-only matches. It also has a few quirks Im trying to get around like airstrikes flying at ground level and the tactical nuke exploding off the map. Mod had its first actual CI yesterday. A small issue related to betties that has since been fixed. So far. The more games played on it and the more things tested out the faster it will get certified. Thanks to all that are playing it. Oh and when you do plz use betties now and then.
  19. Depending on the mod and the map, the worst offenders have always been fast moving FFA games with alot of player that constantly drop weapons and health packs. Also dead bodies piling up. Only way around that is for the mod to have timers that will delete them after a short period of time.
  20. Another post asked this today, I think. Yes it means there were too many objects/entities like dropped weapons, barrels, claymores, players or similar things. Usually with a model but also includes things you cannot see like spawn points or the trigger in that bad area in the mp_sab map where people get frozen in and the explosions wont stop. Pretty much anything that has an origin and can be moved around during the game. A combination of how many the map has and what the mod has.
  21. Added to low load rotation in addition to above. Small and semi-medium maps. Changed the 10-24 load to TDM as a nice diversion from ftag. contamination_one, pb_vantive, pb_frost, paintwar, cqc1, hhk_ballroom, dooerte
  22. The simplest way to describe an entity is something that can be created or moved during the game. Players. Dropped weapons. Planted claymores. A thrown grenade. There are also entities that do not require models such as the radius areas used for planting the bomb or capturing a flag. A map might have an exploding barrel or explosive car. They are also an entities. So entity limit management is very important and one of the usual causes is in DM or TDM with constant kills with each dropping a weapon. Or if the mod also has health packs. They build up fast.
  23. That is a myth in many ways, depending on whether or not you live in places like Berkley. Like other groups they tend to speak the loudest even tho so many tell them to shut up and go away. Also why gun legislation doesnt usually get very far except for some of the usual suspects. And always only after some big national incident. Then it gets forgotten when people go back to watching The Voice or playing on their Xbox. Two guys broke into an upper scale suburban house in my area not too long ago. Both got shot for their trouble.

  25. Changed the gametype for the low-load map rotation (8 players or less) to Deathmatch. If when the map rotates there are 9 players it will go to the Freezetag rotation.
