When this song (the one I'm posting below) came out, I felt certain Miley had turned a corner. Unfortunately, and as a friend of mine keeps saying, "she's trying too hard." There is a lot of talent there, but sadly I think she struggles with the way her childhood was cross-circuited with Disney and Hanna Montana. And tragically, there is a whole universe of haters that has evolved to generate additional identity confusion for her. What you see is the collision of a lot of factors beyond her control, AND YET, when you look at the movies she's put out post-Hanna (including the Hanna Montana Movie,) and when you see how her music has come along, there is a hell of a lot to be excited about. Give her a chance. She's young and did not go through the prescribed gates and rites of passage like the rest of us did. Try to embrace her need to vomit up a messed up path to young adulthood. Psychological research tells us that the human brain has not fully developed its completely rational and sound decision making processes until at least 24 years of age. In the mean time, it may be an interesting and "creative" journey for us to all watch...
Sorry, there is no official music video for this song, but this is the one with the best audio I could find. It really is a sad song sung with passion just like Wrecking Ball. You can hear it on Girls Rock Radio, too by the way, along with a few other of Miley's songs.
