They are easier than a revell model to rebuild--- maybe ...maybe 10 parts-- I COULD EVEN WALK YOU THROUGH IT IF YOU JUST NEED TO OVERHAUL--DIDN'T YOU JUST PUT AN ACCELERATOR pump in it? My carb was rebuilt about a year and a half ago, but i'm not sure about the quality of the job.It probably is fine though. The only thing is that when i cut off the engine i get a strong exhaust/gas smell. When i had my 78 econoline(300 inline 6 single barrel) i failed emmissions in phoenix and had the same smell. Replaced carb and voila...no smell and passsed emmissions. Now in alabama there is no emmission or yearly safety check standard, but it is just something that i think about all the time with my current MPG being about 12-13 depending on where i gas up. Sorry to beat the dead horse but I always gotta have one subject to obssess over and (fortunately) my truck and its running is the subject, which means everything else in life is pretty good I guess(and/or hope). will a carb from a 73 f100 (302 motor) fit my 82 f100 302?. In the pic it looks exactly the same, but i would feel more comfortable if I knew for sure. I would think that being the ford staple for so long that the dimensions would be the same. It's a carb on ebay, item #290505380966. I mean this looks EXACTLY the same as mine. If one of y'all experts got a moment and can check it or at least let me know i would be most appreciative. Thx.
