Do you volunteer? If so, where? No
What is an interesting fact about you? None that I'm aware of.
Have you continued your education past college or university with career development seminars or classes? What kind? I'm a lot into self learning.  While many people took up golf and hitting the bars , I actually enjoy reading tech books and 'how to books' (not much of a social life ??  Having an electrical background in vocational high school, I taught myself computer programming starting with machine language.  Then 'C' ... this progressed later into my work career.

Did you know what profession you wanted to work in when you started college? No idea, Was getting married and only knew I needed a job. Only had about 4-months of college(dropped out for job) then found a job in the Airline Ground handling sector, which turned into a career 43-years

How would you describe your career? 'my life' , good parts and bad.
What are some accomplishments you've achieved during your career? Started with the airline basics.. loading unloading planes/jets - working weight and balance - worked air freight handling / tariffs , billing.  Worked in employee scheduling and administration.  Used my computer programming skills to stream line some of our work processes.. this let to a position working with I.T. and mainframe programming.
Describe a time that your career was rewarding. Others that recognized my value and appreciated my input / work.
If you could give a younger person career advice, what would it be? Unknown to me at the time, in high school we had to take a semester of typing. I was pretty good at it because my penmanship is horrendous.  My typing skills then came to play at work when our weight and balance computerized.  Other employees struggled with the 'hunt-n-pick' typing method.
What is your favorite thing about your career or industry? Discounted travel , however others don't realize that it has challenges as well.  Your not guaranteed getting a seat.  This can be a process when trying to book hotels and car rentals - especially those with no refunds.  Many times your left behind at the airport.
What is a valuable lesson you learned in your career? This may sound racist, however growing up in Northern Michigan, I think there was only one black family.  All my folks knew was what they read in the newspapers about the Detroit Riots in the 60's, so I feel their understanding was tainted.  When they knew I was moving to the Detroit area for work they instilled in me a fear about the area and people.  Actually when I started working at the Airport I learned really quick there are good and bad in all of our different groups.  I worked with the Black, Asian, Arab, Latino people.  I made some great friends in all of the groups.
I also became more sensitive to their particular backgrounds and history. We all have the same fears and wants out of life and family.
What do you hope to accomplish in your career? I'm retired... I hope I left the place in better shape than when I started.
Are you involved in any professional/ non-profit/sports organizations? If so, do you have a title or rank within these organizations? none
What is your favorite sport? none
Do you play any sports? no
If you were granted 1 wish, what would you wish for? To start life over again, knowing the lessons I've now already learned along the way.
If you won a very large amount of money what would you do? Probably do more traveling and give a bunch away.

Hello everyone, some of you know what's been going on with my parents. I'll try and keep this short. Mom and dad are 87 and 90. Dad will be 91 in August mom 88 in September.
in April mom had critical loss of blood circulation in her left leg. If you've never seen someone's legs dying it's a nasty looking and painful thing.  She was faced with the real possibility of amputation. Luckily her medical providers were able to surgically improve her circulation to the point her feet are slowly healing and the pain has improved.
As you know my dad has a multitude of health issues. Congestive heart failure, dialysis 3 times a week, broke his hip twice. Sadly in May he started having sores on his legs and was being in the home by Extramural care. Finally we had to call an ambulance and have him taken to Emergency. He was diagnosed with Critical loss of blood circulation in his right leg and LIVER CANCER involving 1/3 of his liver.
At 90 there was great debate in the hospital about treating a 90 year old man with so many conditions of which anyone of them could kill him at any moment. You see my dad is a very intelligent and mentally functioning man. He still pays his bills on line with an iPad. The medical staff are all amazed at how sharp of mind he is.
They performed the same procedure on his right leg as they did for my mother. He now has improved blood flow in his lower legs reducing the pain and starting the healing.
Dad, my 2 bothers and I had a meeting with the Oncologist regarding the Liver Cancer. He was a great Doctor and explained everything in a gentle way to all of us. He made it a point to say he questioned the wisdom of the other Doctors in treating Dad's circulation but he said after he met dad and interviewed he now agrees with their decision.
Unfortunately Dad's Liver Cancer is not treatable as his age and multitude of medical issue would just make him suffer and not accomplish any improvement. The Oncologist mentioned dad's options will be Palliative or Hospice care when the time comes. He is currently in the hospital.
Dad has made great improvement in the last week as always he continues to shock his Doctors. This morning the Unit Doctor told us Dad is not ready for Palliative! They are going to heal the sores on his legs and get him ready for a nursing home. He is one fighter.
On July 1st Mom and Dad celebrated their 69th wedding Anniversary in the Dialysis department in the hospital.
    Sorry this is so long.
Remember if you have someone in your life you love you better tell them.
So I love you all....................in a family way!
    Wayne aka WeednFeed

And what do you play now?

No  unless having to cook for everyone in my house
What is an interesting fact about you?
It’s a strange thing but for some reason I deal with emergencies and bad things really easily and efficiently. In my career In the facilities I over saw I have had to deal with everything from earthquakes to murders suicides and drunks. Can handle it all at the time and make clear decisions for needs to be done, but then I pay the huge price when it’s done the next day and what all I had to deal with and see hits me

Have you continued your education past college or university with career development seminars or classes? What kind?
I never went to college, but I have a ton of specialized training that covers a wide variety   From just about everything related to HVAC and the equipment for operating it, trained in lighting and control systems  and then some really specialized training I had to go through for some of the areas I did work in that I cannot fully mention
Did you know what profession you wanted to work in when you started college?
i was heading into law enforcement and had just been accepted into the CHP academy. Sadly shortly after being accepted I blew my new out and never made it. I had planned on going to college and getting a degree in aeronautical engineering, after that   Signed up for the class’s and that’s when I had my first knee surgery stopping me from attending, registered again for the next year and had my second knee surgery stopping me once again, this happened the following year again. At that point I took another path
Did you belong to any professional organizations?
only one I was a member of was a group for engineers in the SF Bay Area
What is your current job title?
Retired now   Had to have a knee replaced that ended my career at 52 years old
Did you win any awards or recognitions during your education?

        At home
What other job titles have you had in your career?
I have always been around facilities, I was a maintenance manager at a bullocks store, the building was sold and I was sold along with it (lol)  Nordstroms had bought it and put me into management with them in a engineering capacity, I prepped and opened the original 5 stores in the SF Bay Area , from there I opened a luxury hotel as a chief engineer. From there it was just a full run
            Where else have you worked?
I  had my own construction business for about 16 years after I was done with the hotel work, my clients where hospitals, PG&E, UC Berkeley a Few cities and a little bit of residential work along with working with attorneys and specialist on construction lawsuits. Having kids I needed something more stable and not as many hours as I was putting in. I went into the apartment industry and was a regional engineering manager covering facilities from Monterey CA to Seattle Washington  10,000 units of apartments,  I did all inspections and over saw the quality of the on site work done by the staff and there training  along with that I put together yearly capital project and ran them in the range from 15 million to 35 million every year . Also I was head of disaster for the northwest region in case any thing happened   ( no stress in my life )
Why did you choose to work in your industry?
it was strange but it seemed to choose me
Why do you like your job?
I liked all the areas I have worked   Always something new everyday. Things that I was able to see and be around when contracting was amazing
How would you describe your career?
Fun but stressful   Now that I have been out of it for a while I can not figure out how I was able to carry such a huge load and get it all done    I don’t think I could do that now
What are some accomplishments you've achieved during your career?
I think the one thing that I am most proud of is how many people I was able to advance in there career, At one of the hotels I was hired to clean up and get running again I was given the option to completely replace the maintenance staff, I kept them, worked with them and created a highly effective team there.  Getting people to grow is a great feeling
Describe a time that your career was rewarding.
I always found it extremely rewarding when called in for problems and being able to resolve them.  As simple as figuring out why when someone flushed there toilet in a high rise it would affect 3 floors of showers. The company had specialist looking at it for months and couldn’t figure it out, I fixed it in one day of going through the systems.  In my career I had a few times I cured issues with newly built buildings
If you could give a younger person career advice, what would it be?
don’t go in thinking you know it all   Listen to everyone around you and even the old crazy guy, the amount that you can learn is amazing, even today if I was working I would not ever claim how much I know and still listen to all involved in a project
What is your favorite thing about your career or industry?
        something new every day
What is a valuable lesson you learned in your career?
        how to deal with people
What do you hope to accomplish in your career?
Its a wrap   I do get called once in awhile to help cover some projects when there are problems are something special is needed.  Just do it once in a great while
Are you involved in any professional/ non-profit/sports organizations? If so, do you have a title or rank within these organizations?
        nope
            What is your favorite sport?
Not a big sports fan, from the damage I did to my knee I have over a 40 history of physical therapy   Have seen to many sport injuries in young people pushing it to hard. Just turned me off to the give all cloture of sports
            Do you play any sports?
        nope
If you were granted 1 wish, what would you wish for?

Do you have any nicknames? Personal or in game?
PainKiller, Pain, Pain in my ass, Pain in the ass. PK.
When and where were you born?
    South East England, 1994 babyyyy!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I think it was a pilot, or work in the Royal Navy. Never did, so instead I pretend I do in video games
    Where have you lived?
My hometown, then Farnham in Surry, and now Canterbury in Kent
    What got you into gaming?
Just something I started off really early as a kid, and its been something I have loved ever since!
    Your first game you played?
I really can't remember but I have a lot of memories of Rayman on the PS1 and Command and Conquer on the PC. I have played so many I can't remember.
And what do you play now?
I play a LOT of things, I don't think I can put them all here but here are my top 5 that I play now:
        War Thunder
        CoD 2
        7 Days to Die
        Project Zomboid
        ARMA 3
    Why did you join XI?
My dad used to be an Admin in CoD2 way back when I was a teenager. I was the first JR member - you can double check if you'd like but when he left, I had to go with as I was only a JR but when I hit 18 or so, I came back, told folks in CoD2 who I was, and the rest is history. I am now a well established member of the clan, and an admin for CoD2 - something I never thought I would get!
What do you get from being in this clan?
A wonderful group of idiots in CoD2 I call my extended family. I have known them for about 14 years, and I have a lot of fond memories of all of them. Loader has been someone close to me for a very long time, and helped me grow into who I am now in the clan.
    What is your favorite hobby?
Gaming, duh! My Steam account keeps growing, but I also have GOG and Origin games on top of that!! I have recently gotten into Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, Warhammer 40k, and Magic the Gathering. Keeping me busy, and my bank account empty.
What is your favorite travel destination?
Bed, as I have never been abroad in my life, but I hope to change that one.
What kind of pets do you have, if any? What are their names?
I don't own pets, but through my life I have had cats, fish, a snake, a lizard and an owl. Currently, my parents have two dogs, who I love to pieces and wouldn't trade them for anything.
What is an interesting fact about you?
Have you continued your education past college or university with career development seminars or classes? What kind?
I studied at Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent, doing Digital Media. Before that I did some months doing a Games Design course but left that because mental health.
Did you know what profession you wanted to work in when you started college?
Video games! But sadly, that has fallen to the wayside - but in the interim I am now in IT.
