Very nice, I’m sure it will serve you well. It is funny how marketing and name brand drives the b price up so much. All these North American companies out sourced so many products driving up their profits. Now those same factories are sending those same products to N/A under a different brand for 1/4 the price. It is very hard to purchase anything made on the North American continent now Funny I never remember getting a discount on pricing when these companies retooled overseas! ive had this set over 25 years now. Only has 3 stones but does a great job. Great for taking on a hunting and fishing trip. Nice and compact.

Thanks everyone he’s had a lot of smiles the last little while. He understands his limitations and is thankful for every day. He just loves life and family. He and mom had a wonderful day yesterday. One of my cousins every year takes mom and dad to her camp to celebrate Dad’s oldest sister’s birthday although she has been gone for many years they still celebrate her day. It is a great celebration full of wonderful memories for dad. He is the last living member of of his immediate family. They went through dozens of old pictures of the Local Lebanese community who immigrated to our area. Dad was able to remember all their names and tell old stories of days gone by in the community. He was treated like the KING he is, he is loved by all and loves all…………as long as y’all don’t wrong him lol! Again thank you all for the kind words I’ll be passing on your thoughts and blessings. Well most of you know Dad has had a rough time the last few years in particular since December 2020. His medical care has been spectacular. Friday August 06/2021 he celebrated his 89th birthday. We are so very thankful and blessed to still have him here with us. Today I dropped him off for his dialysis, he is in great spirits and is always thankful for his improving health all be it limited. His mind is clear and his heart is full of love. We made a big pot of grape leaves stuffed with meat, rice, onions, stewed tomatoes and spices. Most people cook the cabbage roll version with the stewed tomatoes and the grape leaves with lemon and oil. we prefer using the tomatoes. Have a great day! Wayne

@Yoshi I have a food saver GAMESAVER I purchased from Costco 5 years ago. The model I have has camo skin on it. I see a similar one in costco.ca but it has lots of recent bad reviews. We seal whole chickens, steaks, hamburgers, corn, as long as these are dry. meat should be partially frozen as I mentioned about the moisture getting trapped under the seal. The manual also mentions putting a paper towel damn to stop moisture from goimg beyond the seal

@Yoshi do you have one of those vac sealers? I love mine they work great. What ever you are sealing it has to be DRY or it will not seal if moisture escapes. Just partially freeze things so liquid will not be vacuumed under the seal.

We used to have a wood stove until I was about 8 and dad always had me cooking the meat over the fire. We finally got a charcoal BBQ when I was about 14.

@Biotech btw Lahem Meshwi means grilled meat Thanks for the clarification Dad still speaks Arabic a bit as he never learned English until he started school. We have a lot of Syrian refugees here now and sometimes he will speak to the kids, stops them in there tracks lol. He only taught us a few words. When he spoke to the older people in the community sometimes they spoke Arabic when they didn't want us to know what they were saying lol.

Well having a hard time with the garden this year. The weather has been ridiculous! Our June started cold and dry then hot as hell then cold and wet with 2 inches of rain at the end of the month. July we received 9.1 inches of rain. I lost most of my corn and then the deer hit what was left. I also lost over 300 onion plants. Better luck next year. Happy to say my garlic harvest is going well Last October I planted over 100 garlic cloves I just harvested less than half tonight. As this is my first try at garlic I’m very happy with it. It is a hard neck porcelain variety called Music.

My Father’s parents came from Lebanon around 1904 as I’ve mentioned before. One of the great recipes is LAHEM MISHWEE. I believe LAHEM is lamb but we now use beef as lamb was very hard to get when I was young. I made a big feed for my parents. I used sirloin tip steak. It was very delicious.
