  1. Yeah - usually there is some sound file or some other fugly thing on the maps that streams a bazillion errors in the console on me, so that doesn't always work. Sometimes it works out that way. Thankfully skipping maps is generally not common, anyway. Sure would be nice if we had a 21st century solution for this. If an admin or mod could simply call a vote and have an actual voting app in-game so people could vote and take the human counting part of it out... I think everyone would like that.
  2. Sure, you can handle counting yes votes as they come over the text chat, making sure to only count XI member votes and ignore all the other stuff flying across the chat at the same time. Sounds easy.
  3. I was on the server at the time. I 100% support and back Crimson. He organized a vote, he counted them up, and he rightfully switched the map. FlyingDutch then started asking why the map was switched. He was informed by other players on the server that there was a vote. He then said something to the effect of, "It must've been an invisible vote." Crimson confirmed he took a vote, and FlyingDutch continued to deny the truth - which in my mind is calling Crimson a liar. I told him that he should trust Crimson, and that Crimson wouldn't BS him. He then said he would come here and make a post, which he clearly did. At no point did I witness - or say myself - that he would be kicked for anything. At least I don't remember that, but I did smoke a bowl right before I joined and all this went down. In any case, everything was going fine, and should've kept going fine, except for the OP's shenanigans.
  4. Backlot is a nicely sized map you can use for a reference.
  5. That's likely the result of some good weed right there.
  6. I do tunnels as a separate .map file and then put them in when I have them done, except for the entrance/exit area. Much easier to see what I am doing. I take each section I want (90 degree turns, u shapes, s curves, etc) and make prefabs for each, then I can just bolt them together however I want quickly. The real pain is how you decide to make them transition to the surface. I tend to do a lot of texture blending so usually those spots take awhile for me to line up properly.
  7. Great post Sammy... I feel like I should bookmark it. I like to lay out the foundation of the map, then compile it and run it. I just put blocks in for where I will have a structure or something, and time the runs from spawn to the middle of the map... unless you already have a map file of a map that's a size you like, I need to do this to determine how big the map should be in the first place. After that, knowing how tall things are (specifically eye height standing, crouching, and lying down) is critical to ensure you build cover that people can use properly. I am in the process of remaking a COD2 map for COD4 right now... the snowy one with all the trenches. I can't remember the name.
  8. While we joke about it, it's true... so it's probably helpful for anyone looking into starting to click on the links Sammy provided.
  9. The hardest part is just memorizing the keys to get around Radiant.
  10. @Gatorgirl - thank you so much for your leadership, patience, and clear direction as a head admin. I think you were one of the best we've had, and we will certainly miss you. I wouldn't wish a head admin job on my worst enemy.
  11. Count me in - also aching for some CTF.
  12. Maybe I was trying to bring the thread back on topic you asshat.
  13. Maybe for you dirt farmers, but us hydro guys have a different requirement.
  14. Very cool. It looks a lot like Fallout 76. Haha!
  15. The rotation that was in yesterday had a lot of maps that are open and big (and also random spawn points). I think we should be keeping those maps in the rotation, but three of them in a row seems to agitate the daily regulars. Plenty of people *do* leave when they don't like the map... when it's half the players who were playing, then I think we need to take notice (which @dadda2did).

    Fallout 76

Anyone playing Fallout 76? I'm "UncleBob" in game.
  17. No joy on my end. I passed up a ten pointer and two eight pointers - all 1 1/2 year olds. I had a shooter in the scope on the 2nd to last day but couldn't get him to step into a clear enough spot to pull the trigger. Oh well. Weather sucked most of the hunt - just glad I got to see some horns. I'll concentrate on filling my freezer with my bow here in MA for the next ten days.
  18. I've been off hunting - I'm back. That time of year for me where I disappear for a few weeks - so as Chile said... off thinking.
  19. Mine is top right - can you guess who it is supposed to be? To me, it looks like "Caveman Stallone." Our 6 year old did the unicorn, and my wife did Chewy.
  20. Yes, but the cost of prosecution outweighs the desire to do so. The Justice Department only has so many resources.
