  1. No Sammy not mad. Disappointed. I think that was the first thing I said. I have no problem with giving people more choices but why take away choices people use. Every class I had had hacker, dead silence, stealth / hacker hardline, stealth / hacker, snatch and grab, stealth. the way the options are set up now there is no way to get a true stealthy package. I don't like the way the two special packages are set up. I don't like the reflex site, I prefer iron sites though I do like the laser for hip fire. The last time a variation of this was on the servers I tried making some suggestions nicely but was simply told it wouldn't work or was too much trouble, but the one thing that could make any mod better is still very simple. Turn the friendly fire on. I've said it from before I was ever a member. Friendly fire makes everything better (in games mind you). As is though I guess I'll just stop playing at that server now. I kept trying to give it a chance last time to see if any changes were made and some were when an admin suggested moving some perks around it was done pretty fast but hey if my opinion doesn't count to you that's fine with me it's your choice and your opinion. Anyway I think there is still an accuracy issue though it seems better if the server isn't packed full. Maybe just trying to put too much on an old game or maybe I just have a shit connection or maybe it's just time to move on.
  2. I was rather disappointed to see this mod back on. I know a lot of hard work was put into it but as the mythbusters proved you can polish a turd, but it's still a turd. It's still aimed at pansy ass players who just want to get more bullets and tubes out than the next guy. It's a mod that wants to force explosives or other worthless inventory on you. Like I said last time this thing came around how about giving me an option to give up the inventory for a lightweight perk (longer sprint time). How about you put the bomb squad perk (or hacker as it's called now) back in the first tier where it has been on every other cod4 version or even better put it in the inventory as it's suppose to be a balance for people who think those who use clays, c4, and fake packages are lesser life forms barely worth notice (though not as bad as tubers and lmg whores). This mod punishes those who want a little stealth or skill rather than spraying and tubing all the time. I mean really what's next you gonna put stealth, hacker, dead silence, snatch and grab, and hardline in the same tier so you can spread out deep penetration, venom, and sonic boom out? And for FUCK SAKE TURN THE FRIENDLY FIRE ON! half the bitching on the servers is about blind tubes/frags and bunny hopping prefires. It won't fix the hopping but your less likely to prefire or tube/frag when you might kill your teammate. If I have offended anyone by this post just let me say Sammy I know you put a lot of work into it and I respect that, but it doesn't mean I have to like the mod. Any one else TFB it's my opinion and where I live your allowed to have one a voice it if you want to.

    well Sammy while there may not be any girl on girl porn for you there are a lot of old school games. I grew up playing a lot of RPGs and they have all the great classics there plus a lot of newer stuff. Just picked up Battlemage : Lichdom which is a bit like Hexen on steroids. It's 80% off tonight ($7.99) and so far I'm rather impressed.

    Don't know how many people will be interested in this but I haven't found any posts about this here. There is a website called GOG.com that when it started was all about retro gaming. GOG stood for good old games and when they started that's what it was. A lot of the games you could get yourself online in free ware places but most of the time you would spend hours trying to get your config right to play them. The site charged $5-$10 per game and had everything configured and packed for it to work on most computers and included PDF file for guides and instructions. It has grown quite a bit over the last few years and now is a strong supporter of indie games and other new releases that don't have the strong support of one of the big studios. There is a lot of things there in almost every style of gaming and support for mac and linux systems. They also have killer weekend deals and quarterly deals. Weather your looking for something new or just a stroll down memory lane I would encourage you to take a look. Also everything there is DRM free!
  5. I'm all for Chaos...Bring on the friendly fire!!!! Is there any chance that inventory could disable perk 1. Could Hacker be put back in perk 1. In the first cod4 we had bomb squad (hacker in mw2) in perk 1 set. UAV Jammer (Stealth in mw2) in perk 2 set. Dead Silence in perk set 3. Now I have to decide if I want Hacker or Dead Silence. I realize some people don't care to play with style or precision. I'm not saying they shouldn't be able to but if your going to add something like inventory with all the explosives and not remove a perk for them as has been done in every other mod to this point then what is the advantage you put in for players who want stealthy play. I'd love to use it. I bet it's awesome. Something on par with poison bullets and getting a semi auto tube that I don't have to reload before I fire a second shot to go with my LMG. Where did you hide the cloaking device...WHERE!!!! On a different note... Where's the love for the Shotty... would it be to hard to put a 15-20 round barrel clip in for it somewhere? In closing just let me say that if people want Chaos and the adrenaline rush then why have friendly fire off...nothing beats dodging your buddies bullets and frags. As far as "Balance being in the eye of the beholder" are you saying that every other version was unbalanced because you had to chose between hacker (bomb squad) or explosives? Also just so you know my wife loves this mod...she doesn't play... but my honey do list get's done a lot sooner now.
  6. Get real Boom Boom, it's not true to the core game...and it's not tactical. No offence here Sammy but it has drifted far from the original game and maybe without you even noticing it. Sometimes we just start doing things and think "Hey this is cool I'll add it!" and never really stop to think if it's what we really need. I know you've put lots of hard work into this but in a post you made on another thread you said you wanted to keep it balanced for all styles of play. With that in mind I'd like to point out a few things. Perk 1 and Weapons In the original COD4 while some of the weapon choices were a bit unbalanced inside the different classes the classes themselves were fairly balanced. You had your basic rifle. 3 full auto, 2 semi auto and 1 three round burst. you could put a silencer, acog, reflex, or 203 (tube) on it. If you wanted a tube you gave up perk one (That means you get no bomb squad or extra ammo, or other explosives). your speed was average as was the noise you made. You had the smg class. Silencer, acog, or reflex. You didn't get an option for a tube your speed was faster than the base assault class, you made far less noise (almost none with dead silence), and you could run just a little bit further. you had your LMG and shotty class (well they were 2 classes really) no tubes or silencer but you could get a grip to improve your accuracy (but again at the cost of perk 1) or you could put an acog or reflex on a LMG or a reflex on a shotty. Noise was more than the assault class, speed was just a bit slower, and distance just a bit less. Finally you had a sniper. Only attachment was an acog, no way to get a tube. speed, noise, and distance was all about the same as an assault class. The Idea here was that if you were playing something other than the base class (assault) your weapon or speed and silence gave you an advantage over the assault rifle so you didn't get to use a tube. If you wanted other explosives you couldn't guard against them. If you wanted more ammo you had to give up explosives or bomb squad. It kept it balanced. Perk 2/3 If you wanted to do more damage with your gun (Stopping power) you couldn't protect against it (Juggernaut), reload quicker, be invisible to radar, have explosives do more damage, or be a little lame and have 2 primary weapons. Again Balanced. And if you look at perk 3 choices you will again see how there is a choice for all the styles of play. Steady Aim for the run and gunners, Dead Silence for the sneaky ones, Extreme conditioning for the running bunnies, Last Stand and Marty for the extremely gay. Where is the balance for the inventory. I don't want explosives or more weapons. Give me flak jackets or Kevlar vests in inventory. Give me a choice for light weight in inventory. give me extended mags without reflex. Or something that will balance it out for all the styles of play. Myself I think you should give up Perk 1 for inventory if you want explosives or a shiny crossbow. I think if you really look at the current mod your giving us you will see it's rather geared for people who wall spam with LMGs after they have launched there semi auto tube (that now any class can have) or thrown their 3 blind frags at the start of the map. They use armor piercing rounds or even worse Venom (I've still been killed by wall spam with this... the Idea that a fast acting poison or toxin would survive the firing process is a bit far fetched... but that it would survive going through brick walls and still be present in enough volume to kill someone in a matter of 10-15 seconds is even worse) Now if you want to be Silent you can't see enemy equipment (Dead silence and hacker are in the same class...Hacker belongs in perk 1... its bomb squad and if you want explosives or gay ass ammo you shouldn't get hacker). I think the balance between classes is gone. However I think, as always, if you just made it so that friendly fire couldn't be turned off that would fix a lot of problems. You would just have all the Tube toting, LMG loving, P90 Packing, Wall spamming, Pre-firing pussies yelling at you then!

Something I forgot to mention earlier is that while I was checking out some other servers to see some of the things they had done with different mods I was in one that when you used things like the RC car, Reaper, or Predator you didn't turn invisible. When you wanted to use them you had to find a hiding place or you would get shot and loose it, and when you came out of it there was no spawn protection. I thought this might make the people who don't like the car as much feel better about it being in the game since you couldn't use it for an escape route if someone was after you and you would have to put more time into finding a good place to hide before using it. Just a thought. as for inventory that's not an explosive how about a megaphone that let's you tell everyone on the server how lame someone is for using a tube? maybe in DUKE's voice?
  8. I myself have always used hacker\hardline (snatch & grab before hardline)\dead silence or hacker\stealth\dead silence. I always thought hacker (or bomb squad in the original) was a balance for players who didn't want to use the explosives but since you now have an inventory section what about moving light weight into the inventory section as an option for those who don't play with explosives and then putting hacker back into tier 1? It sorta makes sense that if you want to be light weight and run farther that you would give up something that would add more weight right?
  9. guess I'm done with freeze tag at our server. There are just too many things wrong. Sights don't work. Not just iron sights (as I prefer) but unless I'm using a sniper rifle nothing I actually aim at gets hit. I tried the reflex, acog,and Iron. they didn't work. I tried the laser with hip fire perk and put a whole clip in a guy as he was running at me with the little laser right on his chest and when I had to reload he knifed me. The most popular gun people use while I've been in there sounds like a fucking paintball gun...it's annoying The perks are all fucked up. Like has been said you can't pick the perks that allow for stealth play. But at least you can't pick venom, bullet penetration, and stopping power all at once. That would be a wall spammers dream and there are too many lame ass wall spammers as it is. If your going to have inventory then put the flak jackets and ballistic vests in there along with special "Poison" rounds and armor piercing rounds and med kits...those are not skills...there inventory. I was playing at the (ESC) server yesterday because they had a version of the MW2 open warfare mod running and they have it set up so that when you bunny hop you put your gun up. Sounds like a great idea (unless your Google then you wont be able to fire at all). I think that would be good and would cut down on the "Fucking bunny hopper" comments, however it would need to be ballanced out with turning friendly fire on because the reason people bunny hop is to avoid the people who just run around with an LMG and never stop firing. As for all the comments about "We can't have a server with the old mod on it, it never works." I was playing with about 15-20 people on the g13ftag server because I don't like the new one. To Sammy I would like to say that I know you have put a lot of work into it and I appreciate the fact that there are people out there that put a lot of time and effort into making new mods but this one is like country music to me... I can appreciate the work and talent put into it... but it isn't for me.
  10. I really don't like the new mod. I understand that lots of work goes into it but if you want my honest opinion it sucks. Some things are nice like seeing different weapons but why just assault rifles and why change rifles that people like. I find that if I aim now with the M16 I can't hit shit... but if I hop around a corner doing a 360 and firing blindly I always get a kill. I've tried the other rifles as well with open, red dot, and acog but if I aim I cant hit anything yet fire from the hip and I swear I've got an aim bot. I don't know why people feel like we need an inventory slot I mean the reason it removed one of the perk slots was to balance out the fact that some people don't like playing with them... I mean really... if you have played COD4 this long and still need a tube to get a kill you should just go back to pong... I don't really like the way the perks are broken up because as others have said you find a combo that works well and it sucks when it's gone. Is there a way to do perks like the kill streaks? just a big list and you pick 3? some of the other things I don't like are: Venom...really lets make those wall spaming pansies a little more of a problem. I noticed a few times when people respawn from cars or other things that people get shot by the person respawning before they actually show up. The first time I thought it was just cause it was Mexican but then I saw it 2 more times last night on one map so maybe It was just that map (Fabrica or something like that I Think) or maybe it was just lag but I usually stay pretty steady between 100-115. I seem to find myself blown up on the other side of walls from some explosives sometimes when it seems I should be safe (you know...brick wall...concrete wall) and maybe that's just a tweeking thing. The fact that you can't keep running while using a car, uav, or counter uav. You use to pull it and keep running, now you stop and pause while using a uav or counter uav or turn into a car. I guess I will try to give this mod more time to try to grow on me and maybe I'll get to like it... but it seems to be aimed at making it easier for all the wall spaming, tube toting, prefiring complete waists of oxygen and biological material that make game suck all that much more... now I know it's all a part of the game and I should just deal with wall spam and tubes and prefiring... but friendly fire is a part of the game too...how about turning that on an telling people it's just a part of the game...that would make any version of this mod great!
  11. I was just wondering what thoughts others might have on this. I like the idea of maybe once or twice a month of having a FF night and I'm aware that some kill streak packages would suck if they hurt your teammates. That is why I suggested reflective FF. And BoomBoom I don't know how Sammy would feel about it but you could watch too if you really want

Don't know if its just me but sometimes I just get a little put off with all the wall, tube, and rocket spam (LMG's being the worst...how rounds can go through 2 or 3 walls and still be effective against someone in combat armor is beyond me). Before I cam to the great XI freezetag servers I played COD4 primarily at servers with friendly fire turned on and you didn't see the level of spam (or prefire around corners) of any sort as you did on other servers. Some servers had just straight friendly fire and some had reflective (meaning if you shot someone on your team you were wounded or died). Now I don't know if the freeze tag mods even support friendly fire options or not, and I know sometimes kill streak perks would be harder to use if they hurt everyone instead of just the other team but on the other hand that's why most of us use comms and share intel. Like I said at the start I don't know how others feel about this... but I figure this is a good way to find out.
