Ok, so i got this new vid card a month or so ago, has a HDMI output on the back, the wife just bought me a HDMI cable so i can connect to the big screen and save on burning disks for movies and shit. So i come home, plug it into my PC and TV and go to HDMI1 on my TV. Can see my desktop on the TV, just the picture, none of my icons or anything. Load a movie and i can hear the sound but nothing on the screen changes, just stays as my desktop background. I have no clue as to what i am doing wrong, and please when responding remember i am in no way shape or form knowledgable in anything "techy"

Thanks in advance!!

sounds like it's acting as a second desktop or extended desktop.

on the computer right click the desktop and select properties

go to settings

you should see 2 (or more) display boxes in full black not grayed out.

if #2 is to the right you can drag the video player off to the right side of your screen it should come up on the TV. once there hit the full screen and watch your Porn!

**there may be more advanced options available in the graphic cards software to clone the desk top, but this would be an easy way to make it work for now

If you are running XP check this (sorry, too f'in cheap to use 7)

Start

Settings

Control panel

Sounds and Audio devices

Default tab should be Volume

go to the bottom and next to the speakers, select Advanced under speaker settings

You should have options in the drop downs, play around till you get the sound to go through the HDMI to the TV

On some computers, you have to connect up to the TV AND have the TV on before booting your laptop or desktop up.
