The download speed has been about 12KB/second and a 40 MB map takes about 45 minutes. This makes it nearly impossible to download before the map rotates. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Download this program and install. This is a slick utility for downloading maps that are currently running in rotation on the servers. In the program, go to 'Edit' and the 'Options'. Here you can select the servers you want to download the maps for ahead of time so you don't have to download during game time. Dsl? dial up? i usually get 1.2 mb a sec on ace mod transfer rate.. try turning some stuff of like xfire, background stuff u dont need, ect.. see if that helps ya.. Like merlin said tho, that XI downloader is the key.. Install that, set it up, and one night b4 u goto bed just run it and get all the maps while u sleep.. then u ready to rock next day when u goto play!! good luck.. That is a great bit of software, and it started off pretty good, but now I am getting no where. When I open downloader and click check for new files it checks and checks and then I get this meeage [MySqlError] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond (ExecuteSelectStringCommand). Then when I click start downloads the top five maps have numbers and the state says prepared or waiting for rec and my windows task bar reports that those maps have finished downloading but 0 percentage has downloaded. I did not experience any major issues when I started using the program myself. I would first check your firewall settings to make sure there is an exception or is an allowed program. Because the program is reading and writing information to a windows user folder, the program must be allowed through the firewall. Also double check the settings in the options area for UAC Control. This must be checked if "User Account Control" is enabled. If you are not sure, check it. Hope some of this helps. If not, post back. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
