My dad (86 now) turned 19, June 5th 1944. His birthday was celebrated with a boat ride across the English Channel, and a beach party early the next morning in Normandy, June 6th 1944. He spent this memorial Day remembering not his sacrifice, but the sacrifice of those who never saw June 7th. He still cries when he sees men and women in uniform, and the Stars and Stripes (not to mention every time Obama opens his mouth ). We know that the price of freedom is high, thank God there are still people today who believe there are things more important than themselves. A big FINS UP to all who served and continue to serve.
