That makes a difference. I'll bet you could hit 5gig if you water cooled. I have this card and put it in to test. It got just under the 640mb/sec read so I went with the on board for now. I'm gonna buy a battery for it and that should almost double the access time. But they are expensive. I have a friend that has a 512meg card like this in his server.
