If I run troubleshooter nothing helps. If I restart my pc 2 3 or 4 times eventually it will connect to ipv4 and ipv6 and my connection will be awesome. sometimes i get an error unable to obtain DNS server..sometimes TIPS? your awesome... I have run syware stuff, and CCleaner. cannot find DNS checkbox is set to 0.. thanks I am runnnig off cable, thru my mother board..intel. to a router then cable modem. its only if i shut down pc and restart it happens, I have left pc on for days with no trouble I have Pc to Router to cable modem. Plug your computer directly to the modem and see if that solves your problem. If it does, then you may have an improperly configed router or it may just be flakey. I've had numerous brand-new routers go bad very quickly. When troubleshooting anything on the network, always look at the physical side/hardware FIRST. IP v6 is not your issue. If you can connect period, your ip settings are correct unless you are seeing an ip address conflict. But, as stated above, plug ONE machine into the modem and bypass the router and that would be an impossibility. You are just fine with IPv4 fyi.. Remove anything you don't absolutely need in order to connect to the internet. Make it barebones and try to get it to work. As Demmer said, the your problem has nothing to do with IPV6 vs 4. In fact, you can probably uninstall the IPV6 support in Windows with no ill effect. More than likely your problem has to do with your router. I've thrown away more of them than I can remember due to them all out dying or just becoming flakey. When I work on customer systems there's usually far too many add ons running and simply disabling the ones not needed makes a WORLD of difference in browser performance. You won't need and miss it. As far as i know, ISPs most ISPs do not assign v6 IPs to their customers. Also most websites / Servers dont support IPv6.
