Cool to know, I've been playing around with Linux OS's for a few months now, trying different ones.

I'm liking the Zorin OS best so far, and it's Ubuntu based, maybe they'll work on it too.

Thanks YOP!

However it won't run natively I believe. You need to 'emulate' the Windows environment by using WINE:

I use a Mac flavor of this to allow me to run Windows stuff too without having to virtualize (http://www.codeweavers.com)

Nice discussion. I been wanting to run Linux again. Think it is time to make it happen if it work for some games. Way faster than Windows.

Even the Mac os is running Linux in the background.... so even Apple had to use someone elses work to be successful. ;)

I was just thinking what flavor of LInux would be good now days... I will give Ubuntu a try Yop.

Linux is not made for gaming but works!

It's a good alternative beetween Mac and windows and it's free! Mac is very expensive and windows suck.

So if u just need a good system who allowed to play only few game like COD4 my choice is Linux ;)

U can also make 2 partitions on u r cpu, 1 with windows 1 with Linux. that's rock :welcome:

it could be a gaming OS but it would take lots of development. Quake and others ran on it but it was hard having the correct video card that had Linux drivers. I seen people blow up their CRT choosing the wrong frequency/resolution when setting up the monitor also.

Windows does not suck that bad. I mean only one Service Pack for windows 7. Not bad. It does not crash.... cant remember the last time it did. Supports all my shit.. i can choose what hardware I want and I have options up the ass UNLIKE Crap MAC's.

Image a world with just Mac's. That would be a shitty world. I will choose Windows over crap Mac any fucking day. I would stop using a computer if I was stuck with a Mac. Oh some of you would like that huh... ;)

Nope, Linux is derived from the work done on Unix and MacOS is Unix underneath. MacOS is actually the most widely used UnixOS in the world (as @@Bogleg cringes).

Linux is not made for gaming but works!

These guys are making a 'console' based on Linux to play PC games, you may have heard of them:

http://gamerant.com/...-console-linux/

I think this will help bring Linux into it's own with games (and will likely help the MacOS users as well!

Image a world with just Mac's.

What a wonderful world that would be...

Why would I cringe about that? I couldn't care less what the most widely used Unix OS in the world is.

Windows 8 might be one of the best things to happen to Linux in a while:
