You need to download and install windows xp service pack 3.

Note: if you have a non- intel processor, for example AMD Processor, you can download and install the windows update package for systems with non-intel processor, prior to installing XP SP3.

UPDATE PACKAGE FOR SYSTEMS WITH NON-INTEL PROCESSORS.

0x80244019 Error Codes are caused in one way or another by misconfigured system files
        in your windows operating system.

I don't know what was done when everything was loaded on....As LOM said above.... BUT  you may need all the service packs

not just #3 not sure how that works if 3 contains all the updates???

This error code is not necessarily related to a Service Pack. I presume you have already installed all Service Packs. It may also caused by firewalls, proxy servers etc etc.

Try this Fix-It from Microsoft which resolves several problems with Windows Update.

Just found page on microsoft and it say you must got service pack 3 b4 update it. and you must got automatic update ON.

Updates shut down 8.4.2014 and you cant get any critical updates after that.

try this one http://www.simpletechs.com/1/post/2012/12/windows-xp-updates-error-number-0x80244019.html
