A vote was taken and I was given to believe that as per the rule, a majority supported my return. Yet, I was told to wait. Why? For what?

 

Our process does not allow the appellant to hear the grievances against him much less respond to them. And so I'm left with no understanding of why my return to clan membership only (I will never again wear admin tags) is so objectionable to some. I have no opportunity to speak to those concerns, whatever they are, or to vindicate myself against any that may be unfounded.

 

Must a former senior and game admin who voiced his honest opinion and left the clan over objections to it, sit by unless/until, those who for whatever reason find my return to the clan unthinkable wake up some morning - months or years hence - with the notion that Harry's suffered enough, let's let him back?

 

Who are these people? What's their problem with me? What cardinal sin did I commit? At the least, can I know how long, exactly, is my sentence?

 

This is very frustrating as you might imagine. And I honestly feel I deserve better.

Harry there are a lot of politics involved here. Since your last appeal to get your tags back, the rules have changed so that now votes in favor must be at least eighty percent of the vote. You have many friends in XI that will always be in favor of allowing you back in, but you have to admit, you've had run-ins with people in the past and some of them have a vote regarding your tags. You've never been afraid to voice your opinion on practically any subject, regardless of how some felt about it and that is probably working against you. Needless to say there are some that aren't too anxious to let you back in.

 

You have left the admin team once and dropped your tags twice, and there are some (even some who really like you) who happen to feel that those who drop their tags shouldn't be able to come back at all, or at least not for a very long time.  I'm afraid that dropping your tags was a huge mistake on your part that your detractors will use against you for as long as possible. The debate among the admins to allow you back was very heated at times, and the shake-up in the admin team when you left is still very fresh in many minds.

 

It's going to take some time my friend, just take advantage of what access you do have and enjoy playing the games.

I would have to agree. Tossing your tags down is a statement, and probably not a demonstration that wins loyalty. Harry, you aren't the only one that has gotten annoyed/blind-raged pissed off. Walking off for a month or so is a far better solution, and most of us have taken that route rather than tearing the chevrons off our sleeve.

Well, there you go. It is not true that I have dropped my tags twice. Earlier this year was the only time since I got them some six years or more ago. It is true that I left the admin group previously.

 

As to the vote in August where I asked for reinstatement as a member, that came, according to what I was told by two senior admin, when the rule was that the majority rules, and I was told that the majority supported my return. 

 

It would seem that my questions, otherwise, are to go unanswered; I do believe I merit better than that and that in part, I'm seen - or being used - as a scapegoat for all the crap that went down in the spring. Why some others left the admin group may have been because of my opinions in part, but not in total. I was one voice raised among many, after all. 

 

I guess I'm left at their mercy. That's not a very good place for anyone to be, frankly.

Harry i always considered you very intelligent...and well spoken...i don't know the situation of your tag drop...but that is something i would not do..unless asked to....i instead would take a month or so off...and let things boil down a touch...then return with tags and start anew...i wish you well Harry and would not like to see you go..and the same goes for every member...think a while and keep your tags untill clearer heads prevail...anger sometimes gets in the way of reasoning,that's just the way things go sometimes...i myself have lost clients over anger issues...but they were well waranted...thinking back though ...i didn't solve a thing by being pissed off...just got my blood boiling and sleeplessness...[money oriented] ,,anyways Harry i wish you all the best in whatever the outcome...you have been here a long time and it would be a shame for you to do the tag drop thing...if you do come back Harry....drop some bad language the next time instead of your tags.....
