Hello fellow idiots!  Long time no hear/see!  I finally was able to purchase a new PC but now I have issues.  It is a HP and has Windows 10 on it.  Every time I download Steam it freezes up and we have to put it back to factory reset.  Sapper found a few things online that said some files might need to be deleted in order for steam to work.  If anyone could help me get back to gaming it would be greatly appreciated!  I have frustrations that I would like to take out by killing ppl and I would prefer them not to be real ppl!  Thank you!

you on TS

i'm in tech & genearl help

Reinstall Steam

Download the installer here and reinstall Steam to the same location where it is already installed.

This may fix potential issues with Steam client and service files. Installing into same location will preserve all installed games.

WARNING! Uninstalling Steam will delete all game content.

@KaptCrunch I am not.  I don't have it downloaded yet.  I'll do that now and see if I can get in there.

solved  she buy a computer that shop changed out motherboard and removed service tag. had a intel MB switched to AMD

this is why you need to know what you have when things aren't running as should Note: important to know motherboard Rev x.xx before any updates that match your model #

Is this SOLVED ?? Blackwidow try turning off mafee ugh puke sorry it hurts just to type that name 🙂  if your problem still persits. Some aftermarket AV 's stop alot of programs from using files they need. Its a they did not pay for access to MS for that permission thing. BTW window 10 really does not need any other AV program Wwhat Microsoft provides does a good enough job. (i know off topic)
