I do know that if I ever want children, there's the possibility to use IVF and check which eggs or combinations have the bad gene and which don't and use the good ones. There are a few genetic illnesses in the Netherlands with which that is allowed and mine is one of them. Not sure if I would feel okay about that, but it's an option. Crispr is a gene editing technology, too. It can edit a defective gene to cure the illness it causes. It's in nascent stages, but they've cured diseases with it in studies. In the not-too distant future, many inherited illnesses will be repaired, dare I say eliminated. Speedy recovery! TBB and Bamm 1
 Awards
