I just got a portable Ham Radio for Christmas. Would like to do it, but have yet to get my license. I have another Ham Radio from a pickup I got years ago. The previous owner had left it installed. Thinking I can connect it up to house voltage and make it a "base station". Anyways, a new hobby for me to become involved with. Ham Radio for a ham...? I like it...

way to go, yep, we need things like that you never know... strange times Russia, China, North Korea, old Yugoslavian countries, Belarus, on and on, heck even issues in SOUTH AMERICA are going on. HAM radio is one of those old fashioned, opps maybe we need it cause this happened, sort of handy devices that come in handy if/when needed. I'm not very good at it but can fly it around and direct it. If you ever spec Pootie flying a predator you will be impressed. I've tried his/her style a few times where you fly off the map and turn back to get a better angle. It works. I just use free look with the mouse to steer it but that's not real agile for me.
