Everyone was affected by the attacks on 9/11 in some way.
For me it was a bit more personal.
I lost a good friend, Richard Gabriel, on Flight 77 that hit the Pentagon that morning.
He served during Vietnam and was a purple heart recipient for wounds received in battle.
I was working less than 1/2 mile from the Pentagon and never heard the plane hit.  My wife called to tell me that a plane hit the Pentagon.  I went outside my office and was met with smoke and the smell of burning jet fuel.
Little did I know Richard was on that plane.
That day changed me and it was what propelled me to become a volunteer firefighter years later.
My fire company was at the Pentagon, with over 30 of my brothers and sisters working 12 hour shifts for over a week.
These are a couple of photos of some of my gang.  So proud to call them family.
Many of them still volunteer to this day, and a few have passed.
I am proud to be an American.   Today.   Every Day.

You mean sigs right? Yes when the upgrade to the website happened a lot of sigs stopped working.

I play COD4 freezetag with you people and sometimes i'm AFK or just leave without saying something and i want to explain why thats happens.
I am a volunteer firefighter and when i get a call i let everthing fall and go to the fire station.
So please forgive me when i do that?.

My friend, there will always be struggles and there will always be bad times. This is how we measure ourselves for what we are made of. You already know where I came from and also know that these days seem more gloomy than bright. But this too shall pass. I am still fighting because you taught me how to fight. Your sweet little daughter gave me smiles when I was sad and broken. Remember the day you first came to me? The feeling of desperation you wrote about here was where I was. I had prayed so hard for God to send someone to help me get a grasp on life again. It took a while bit now I stand tall and stay fighting in my way with love and humbleness. If you need to talk I am always here for you. I love you and your sweet little family as my own. Life is good when we can see hope. Hope is the power of God to give us the light to see and live in peace with ourselves. I hope and pray this helps you my dear friend. God knows I would be devastated if not.

@Thunder I responded with the above post before I realized it wasn't who I thought it was, but that doesn't matter my friend. Giggles helped me when all I wanted to do was die. I was lost and wondering the streets because my life completely fell apart and I felt as tho there was nothing to live for. Now about 7-8 yrs later i have grand kids that adore me and family that don't want anything bad to happen to me. Here at XI we are all family even those that seem to dislike us. In the end we are all flesh and blood and need to feel loved and that life is worth living. I found all of this wonderfulness because I chose to fight and live. You can too.
