  1. Nope! Better to make an informed decision based on actual testing. See: https://www.virusbulletin.com/testing/results/latest/vb100-antimalware
  2. Let's see if the server empties at midday tomorrow...
  3. Many congratulations!
  4. That's the screen I got too but it doesn't show the auto-restart at 1200 GMT.
  5. You may recall that I raised this very issue some weeks ago as the server is set to automatically reset at midday GMT/UTC. Whilst that may be 7am EST, DM2 is always populated by Brits, Europeans and American and Canadian insomniacs at that time. All Admins have the ability to add extra resets via the config menu at the host's web site but I couldn't see any option to remove/ change the existing one. Perhaps it is limited to seniors or heads? It may need a ticket into their support, so perhaps Rugger can assist if you can't fix this, Beers.
  6. Far from it, I assure you.
  7. Perhaps we should discuss every ban we dare to undertake and obtain a popular vote? Let's try everyone in the court of public opinion... No, I didn't think so...
  8. No, that is not what I said. "I am not privy to the details" should have conveyed my meaning. It remains the case, however, that if he ever wants to play on our servers again, he will have to appeal his ban.
  9. Well, that was an experience! The venue was stupendous and the accommodation very comfortable. There was a blanket ban on all photography inside the castle but one of the bride's relatives who did the floral displays was allowed to photograph her work before we sat down to the wedding breakfast. She's allowed me to share the view... It was so cold outside, the following morning (the car was encased in ice and the air was -4 degrees C), that I didn't fancy a stroll in the grounds!
  10. We shan't be able to take pictures inside the actual castle - lots of old and fine artwork etc. If it's not too freezing cold, I may be able to snap a few on Sunday morning outside. This castle was the home of Anne Boleyn - the executed second wife of King Henry VIII.
  11. We're heading to 13th century Hever Castle, tomorrow morning, for our nephew's wedding to his New York State-based fiancée. After the ceremony and evening celebrations we'll be staying in the luxury bed and breakfast accommodation there. It'll be the first (and probably only) time we'll be sleeping at a castle! Here's a short video of what the place looks like:
  12. Whilst I am not privy to the details, I understand that he decided to give up PC gaming and move to a console. We were unable to persuade him to register on the web site. Should he wish to rejoin the fun and games, he would have to lodge an appeal like everyone else. However, I do not expect him to return to do so.
  13. Some hilarious scenes from early game development!
  14. I guess we just have to be grateful you didn't choose this one...
  15. Ah, these are going to replace the old rolling stock on the main lines to the north of England. Hitachi built the Class 395 "Javelins" that run from Kent up to St Pancras and they are great trains. It used to take about 1 hour 45 minutes on the "rattler" to Charing X from down here. If we want to get to London now, we can drive up to Ashford International, get on a Javelin and step off it in North London 39 minutes later. It was ideal when I used to take my lad to Wembley for the England matches. They're not as fast as the Japanese bullet trains or French TGVs but 140mph is still quite swift!
  16. Let's hope he has a "high speed" recovery (geddit? ). Is he building the Javelin trains that run on HS1?
  17. You still alive @@Sonovabich ? Coming up to the two weeks mark now here - still not recovered. Getting a few hours sleep per night only due to coughing. I see that Wales has been hit hard and people are being told not to visit their doctors. I'd been thinking about H5N8 (avian flu) as that has been detected there and we have a large population of visiting wild birds as well as neighbouring ducks and chickens here. The WHO, however, asserts that the risk to humans from this strain is low. Couldn't even face a beer or two, yesterday - shows how rough I have been! I'm having groceries delivered this morning including more beer and vindaloo curry - that ought to nuke it!
  18. A few dollars now and then help to keep the servers running are welcomed but donations are not obligatory/expected and, should you be invited to join XI, are irrelevant. We like friendly players who fit in and respect our few rules no matter how rich/poor they may be.
  19. Trailer looks interesting. Only on general release in China and Russia currently but we should see it in the West later this year.
  20. One can get sterile saline nasal wash from the pharmacy. If anyone were to see SOB stumbling round his home town with bubbles coming out of his nostrils, they'd probably think he had rabies... See: http://www.boots.com/en/NeilMed-Sinus-Rinse-Kit_121768/
  21. @@Sonovabich I spotted something interesting yesterday in a Torygraph article about the Queen's illness. The symptoms described mirror mine and explain why I am not getting greatly better quickly. Perhaps this is what has infected you also? "Clare Gerada, former head of the Royal College of General Practitioners, said a particular nasty cold strain was hitting people of all ages this winter, taking three weeks to clear. She said: “We are seeing an awful lot of people this winter with a virus that is more severe than a normal cold, almost a type of bronchitis. “It is causing a hacking cough and if the Queen has got it, then she is probably exhausted from coughing. It may well be affecting her sleep as well, which would leave anyone feeling exhausted, never mind a 90-year-old. “It’s taking three to four weeks for people to completely recover, and the length of time the Queen has been ill would be in keeping with that.” Full article at: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/01/01/heavy-cold-forces-queen-miss-new-years-day-church-service-sandringham/
  22. Most of the few presents I received at Christmas were liquid. What are people saying about me? This ruddy respiratory illness, however, has knocked me for six. I think it must be what the Queen is also suffering from as I became ill on the 25th and the b*st*rd thing won't leave me. In addition to the traditional medications, I am now experimenting with late bottled vintage port to see if that has any good effects. I can attest to Nepalese rum's medicinal properties and half a litre of VSOP cognac also improved my condition (though I did fall out of bed and become wedged down the side of it after drinking that! Wife was talking about calling the fire brigade to get me up! I appear to have injured my right arm as a result...oops.).
  23. Bonne Année, Olive! Look forward to your return to COD5!
