The Metropolitan Police spokesman appealed to "proactive journalists" not to publish information or make enquiries that would interfere with the ongoing investigation. The perpetrator's image was all over the TV during live coverage, yesterday. Today, it was revealed that he was known to the authorities, but not under active investigation as he was considered to be on the "fringes".
