  1. You'd have thought his knife would have got blunt by now... Congratulations on your loyalty and staying power not to mention your patience with those of us who may occasionally get under your skin. Truly a gentleman whose presence enhances our community. Have I kissed enough ass now?
  2. The spam filters get rid of most but one from "Amazon" came through tonight. Two giveaways: 1) There was a zipped attachment; 2) The sender was supposedly emailing from yahoo.com! I second the advice about never clicking on an embedded HTML link in an email.
  3. An interesting map that shows who's issued with what where... http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2013/09/what-the-military-issue-rifle-is-in-each-country-of-the-world/
  4. I reckon this is a great wedding hymn... (If you don't want to listen to it, its title is "He who would valiant be 'gainst all disaster"!) http://youtu.be/KduP5CMT-iE
  5. I'm not sure whether the issue features in Admins' training or the wider perceptions of our gaming community but one thing I would ask people to look out for when children are playing on the clan's servers are any attempts to elicit personal information from them. If someone seems over-friendly towards a child in the game, it may indicate something more sinister. I know the problem of "grooming" is associated more with social networks but, if guest kids are going to be permitted to play, we should look out for them whilst they're here. I haven't read about any instances of this occurring, but, as the authorities polish their act with regards to predators using other online means, the threat cannot be precluded. I'd suggest that Admins and users take similar action to that used when we suspect cheating - video with audio would capture voice chat and noting time/date/server/map would help retrieve any chat log for referral to local law enforcement. It seems logical that any such action by a player towards a child would result in a permanent ban?
  6. I wish him and his family all the best in what are obviously trying times.
  7. Did you see that your countryman, the new Governor of the Bank of England, seems to have brought over the plastic bank notes idea? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24029785
  8. I'm too much of a clown on the battlefield...
  9. Listen, mate - we are an accommodating bunch so if you want to be Chile during the week and Laura at weekends, that's fine by us! It works well enough for @@coolmd after all...
  10. It may also be more productive in the future if one is more discreet rather than making a public accusation before the evidence has been collected? This clan has few rules and one is "no personal attacks". If one suspects a player is glitching or hacking, notify an Admin and let them handle it.
  11. I've had at least three dreams featuring departed loved ones but nothing has led me to believe anything more than they were simple dreams.
  12. I think my choice here would be...
  13. Always follow the dosage advice... "A Colombian man has had his penis amputated by doctors after he “intentionally” took too much Viagra, reportedly in an attempt to impress his new girlfriend with his sexual prowess." 14. Time for the clap...

  16. It's a wonderful gesture, Angel, that should be repeated worldwide. We now have a National Police Memorial Day to remember those who laid their lives down in service in the UK and an annual National Police Bravery Awards event to recognise valour. I emerged from a thirty-year career with wounds that won't heal and will ultimately affect my longevity but look back with gratitude to those rare occasions when people I served offered their thanks. With all the criticism of police, these days, I think many people forget that most of us are/were motivated by a mission to make society and life better. Yes, "to protect and serve" sums it up succinctly. God bless, guide and protect those who stand between us and evil people.
  17. If you were intoxicated at 8am, no one would believe it was the toast you had been served, Johnny!
  18. Let me guess... The 20oz butt rubbed rump with manslaw?
  19. There's only one thing that beats a keg...a brewery! "The human brewery: Texas man brews beer in his bellyA tee-total Texan has given a new meaning to the term ‘beer belly’ after being diagnosed with a rare medical condition that gets him drunk without touching a drop. The 61-year-old suffers from auto-brewery syndrome, an unusual yeast infection that mimics the signs of intoxication." 20. In that atmosphere, a nuclear accident could have triggered World War 3. It almost happened in 1983 and we have a Russian officer to thank that it did not... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1983_Soviet_nuclear_false_alarm_incident
  21. The boat in which we own a share is called... Enterprise! (This is serendipitous not planned!) The first morning I drove her out of the marina, around 8am, past other boats whose crews had not yet risen, I started the engine, inserted the CD into the player in the back cabin and wound the volume right up! (Wife wasn't pleased but little pleases her!!!) This was what I played... http://youtu.be/ooIUtXEuTYQ
