Hawkeye, Don't take it the wrong way, but I'm not too sure it is a great solution. Running two of those in SLI would be equivalent to a single HD5850 or a single GTX285. It's not bad at all. If you manage to find one GTX9800+, matching your existing one for REALLY cheap...maybe (like $50)... I would personally try to find a single card that would match or the performance of a HD5850 or GTX285 or above.... SLI is great NOW, but not so much on older cards. Now, the new cards SCALING much better (almost double the FPS when you double the cards). Also, if you put some money on HD5850 or maybe a GTX460 (second-hand or new), at least you'll get Direct X 11 support, which is a plus for windows 7 and newer games...

Well guys, I bought Crysis Warhead/Crysis Wars for $19.99 from Wally mart. The single player campaign wasn't bad, the graphics were awesome! But the multiplayer? Bah...I got raped a few times by people coming from the sky...and NO I HAVEN'T BEEN ABDUCTED by ALIENS... I mean the guys were coming from the sky, stomping me...glitchers? I uninstalled....

Why? Is it to add to your existing one to make an SLI setup?

That new map, the ZOO, seems to have some more "high ground" to it...might be interesting... The Zombie level seems really great too...

I really thing we got something going now on that server. Most of us are playing and also in the teamspeak channel as well. It's a lot easier to populate now than it was, and we're having more and more "regulars" coming in... It's good!

There seems to be several different things being discussed here. One being spawncampers, the complaining, the accusations and the players that are so good, that their scores are out of the ordinary.... There is something strange about Black ops. Players like myself, that were pretty good at COD4 and 5, but are now just doing average...not good, not bad...just average.. (I'm not discussing age, computer technology or anything else) it seems more random. There is also a difference between jokes and accusations... everybody at least once, called another clan member a HAX...just for the fun of it...I guess sometimes there is real accusations being thrown in the same discussion. I only wish that the mod tools will allow us to be able to even things out....

What do you have for Graphics card? It is the first question. Depending on what you have, running a new monitor with higher res might cause your FPS to drop.... check on that first.....if you got an old card and you're not willing to upgrade soon, better games come out, and you grab a higher resolution LCD...you might get bit in the A$$ but yes, a 24" to 27" 2ms refresh rate is a good start, 1080P (full HD)... 120Hz is better for gaming, but there is not a whole lot of people that have them and comment on them. Apparently, once you tried, you don't want to look back... I always liked SAMSUNG monitors, never had an issue with those...

I agree with you in parts, but some "walling" is easy to do! sometimes, you don't see, but your character sticks out the wall, sometimes you see a boot, gun barrel or other limb sticking out...I shoot when I see it... Also, there is obvious spots on older maps, where everybody know they'll get shot from...if you "pre-fire" in that general direction, you often kill the dude camping the spot... As for real HAXORZ, them fucks are hard to pinpoint...

I start to thing like GUMP....it might be that PCI-E slot that kicked the bucket....or the card is DOA (dead on arrival)...try to install the card in somebody else's computer to see if the card is fine (if you can)

A 1090T X6 black edition sells for $189...might be a good idea in the mid-term, especially if your low on cash and you want the computer to last longer..... If I'd go AMD, I'd pick a black edition, they have unlocked multi, so overclocking is easier... I don't know much about AMD compatible RAM and mobos, but a few guys here are running X4 and X6 CPUs...I think BAMA and nobodygood are...

Chen, NCIXUS.com,Microcenter, Newegg.com, in the USA... You can use PRICEGRABBER to find the best price for your parts... Please give us a "ballpark figure" of how much you're willing to spend... A X4 965 or even a 6-core 1055T can be found for cheap

Chile, With a GTX480 your TOTAL system might draw 500 watts from the wall...it doesn't draw 600 Watts from the card itself...you can be sure of that... vista should be fine with the card... what brand/model is your PSU? Is it a multirail design? It might be that the PSU cables are hooked up to the same internal rail...you might want to try another PCI-E power connector from the PSU... Also, like others mentioned, it could also be heat...the trick of the "open case" + household fan pointing in it might tell you that if the computer now doesn't crash anymore it means your case had bad airflow, or lack of fans... download MSI afterburner, enable in-game display (OSD) choose temperatures and FPS...so you'll get in the game, you'll be able to monitor your temperatures...and if you see the 3D clocks dropping (thermal throttling), you'll see if the card is trying to "save itself" Is the computer shutting down only in 3D applications? If it does, it narrows it down to HEAT or POWER issue...

Humm... seems like you pretty much narrowed it down...arent't computers lovely? A LOT of trial & errors, lot of research...
