I would ditch the Raptor HDD and get a good sized SSD and a 1-2TB storage drive. I have 2 of these Intel 520 Series 240g http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167088 and a 320 series Intel and a Dead Crucial RealSSD 128gb and a OCZ vertex 180gb SSD.The Intel 520 series drives are super super fast.Intel is also the only company out there ATM that offers a 5 year warranty on they're SSD drives.Everyone else offers 2 and 3 year. I had 2 74gb raptors in Raid 0 before I got my first SSD.SSD is atleast 2x faster than any mechanical drive. Also I would not get Crucial memory.Compatibility and build quality on they're memory as of late has been horrible.And they are severely overpriced. I'm hooked on this G-Skill Ripjaws X series memory.They have lifetime warranty good speeds and I haven't found any motherboard that has compatibility issues with it.Best of all it's $124 for 2 8gb sticks.CAS 9 and 1.5v http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231568

What is your Motherboard Manufacturer name and model number? I'll look up the beep codes for you.Sounds like it has AMI BIOS by the beep codes.1 long beep and 3 short beeps is the code for (( Conventional/Extended memory failure )) Try reseating your memory if that doesn't work remove all memory sticks but 1 and try to boot with each stick 1 at a time. Let me know if that did anything there are a few other things that could cause that specific code but that's the most common.

Some Viruses will mess with permissions.I've had this happen on more than a few customers PCs.Also changing hardware or hardware locations in your PC may cause this to happen. If you can go into Safe Mode and move and/or delete files then I'm betting that you picked up a virus.
