  1. I'm no real expert but SSD's don't work like the old drives, you must never defrag and is it really necessary for you to partition?? drives are so cheap now just add another one, I use SSD for OS and large old type, cheap as chips, for storage, Pete G's solution was the one I used for mine and works fine, one thing they don't tell you with SSD and flash drives is their limited storage life for storing information in case you're only 25.
  2. Yea but who did you miss and would love to have seen?? 'you all', getting used to talking to 'you all' now! lol
  3. OK 'you all' (I'm getting there with accent), if you could go back and see one person or group in your youth who would it/they have been, for me it would have to be Zeppelin.
  4. I had some updates from Microsoft a couple of days ago, presume you had them too? although my OS which is the same as yours is fine, try a restore to last time working ok you can always put it back, sometimes works, if it's a modern usb mouse it may be that the drivers were corrupted, try reinstalling, take old ones out first. But while you have these problems fancy a game later??
  5. Yes great days, I saw Jethro Tull in Houston (as well as UK), Ravi Shankar in Boston (which I remember for the pizza afterwards), Deep Purple at the Stadium in Montreal and a little known band then called Lynyrd Skynyrd in Newcastle the UK in 1977, who of course went on to better things, a great shame they were taken from us. In the UK at that period we were blessed with so many great bands, can you believe I turned down free tickets to see Led Zeppelin in 1971 because it meant I had to walk 8 miles home?, now I'd walk 800 to turn the clock back, I saw Free and many more for next to nothing cost wise, if I had to pay what they do now I'd watch tv. I watched Fleetwood Mac get booed from their set because they never played any of their Peter Green stuff, amazing, one year later they ruled the world. I would love to have seen Neil Young, Starship, and Janis Joplin in their early years but it was not to be, music is still a large part of my life, especially electric blues, and you now have all the best artists over there, including some great ones like Rob Lamothe who never got famous, kill you tomorrow, off to bed now.
  6. 'Any advice running a company let me have it. ' well HXTR best advice given to me ever was this - if you ever employ people in their eyes you'll always be a c..t!, just make sure you're not a soft c..t! working for yourself is the only true way to riches, contentment and satisfaction, but it certainly isn't easy, especially in the early years, above all the one thing you learn is never trust anyone, sorry but true. I hope you're the next Donald Trump m8.
  7. Where's 'concert' Toes, is it near Orlando?? no the wonder you beat me with that computer lol.
  8. Ah how times change, up to 2 years ago my phone never stopped, at any time of day, now nothing - bliss, I used to live an exciting life now quiet, I prefer quiet.
  9. Bike looks great but of course being 'exotica' don't expect it to run too long, especially if it's raining, where do you live?? oh yes - Manchester - hmmm?
  10. Someone sends you messages????? have you told the missus?
  11. I've got a bid in for North Carolina, if I win I'm kicking someone out! PS you're too late we've already sold most of the UK to foreigners.
  12. I liked it with 16 max, 20 is too many now no one ever goes on acemod which is a shame, see you can't please everyone,.
  13. My wife has a seashell on her inner thigh, if you put your ear against it you can smell the sea.
  14. Yes it made me investigate the conspiracy theories surrounding these and what people are reading into these theories, amazing, when Santa Claus turns up with his elves this Christmas could they leave me 6 cases of beer and two cases of rum, then I'll climb on a jet and when at 32,000 feet piss in the toilet, flushing it every minute on the way to the States. This will 'seed' the clouds and contrails with pixie dust, floating to earth, you'll be able to brush this up and sprinkle on your fields of hashish, or whatever drug is bending your mind to think that sinister acts are happening??? You telling me seriously that people are taking time lapse pictures of clouds because they think the governments are seeding them?? for Chrissakes devote your energies to something worthwhile, even trainspotting ranks above this, get out more, meet people talk to them, go for drinks, go to concerts, but filming clouds???????????????????????????????????? Play more COD Signed Santa
  15. Hi Angel great to see you, been playing you forever it seems, but you do need the practice Lol!
  16. Get a new computer - that ones crashed, or a tv or woman, anyway something to stop you staring at clouds, try drinking, if you have enough the sky spins round and round, if you drink enough the same cloud eventually passes you by after going round the world, it's a great way to travel cheaply.
  17. How much Rum have you had??????????????
  18. I don't know about that, there's been quite a few times I've had enough, what's got four legs and four eyes?? - four pirates! - yo ho ho and a bottle of rum, does Long John Silver drive an automatic??
  19. I think the real test of overconfidence in your own abilities and strength must go to Afghanistan, not one of the invaders has managed as far as I know, both in ancient and modern history, just watched Restreppo, a very sobering experience and a reminder of limitations politicians fail to grasp, look how many nations it's taking to defeat Islamic State. We may be the biggest, we may have the best technology but that does not guarantee you'll win, we tend to believe our own 'hype'. If you get the chance, talk to someone who's actually been in a recent war zone and fought, I have recently and it's a very different perspective to what we are told. As Beers said a bunch of farmers, who could shoot, almost defeated the best army in the world, we needed to invent concentration camps to demoralise them. America had Vietnam, we had Northern ireland both recent, neither of us won there did we, albeit for differing reasons but we lost, we have great troops but politicians stifle them, and are even jailing them for killing people (true). The ultimate farce was surely during the Northern Irish troubles when armed soldiers on duty at army barracks were not issued bullets for their guns, with inevitable consequences, let us hope the person issuing those orders sleeps soundly eh? They should be hung for treason. America and the UK have fought together for over 100 years, in our news today we have reaffirmed our commitment to this and abandoned Europe. Your new President very astutely has realised that Europe depends on us for defence but does not pay the cost, especially Germany, since the Second World War the States and UK have maintained the biggest armies and paid for them to be stationed in Europe against a Russian invasion, who are the fools - we are? The basic rule of fighting - win whatever it takes, forget that and you lose, then it's too late! Any of you out there actually in the services in Iraq/Afghanistan, what are your thoughts.
  20. Yes it will be a great shame when our local dialects die out, which they will of course in time, once 'we' (North Easterners) could pinpoint your place of birth by the slight change of 'twang' as you know but I notice this is getting harder to do. I live now in a place that used to be one of the broader dialects, but you notice it in the kids, the accent is not the same as their parents, diluted by TV and other kids at school born outside the area. PS we'll be shopping in Darlington tomorrow, wife loves it, one of the last town centres with non main stream shops and a market with great butchers, ditto Barnard Castle and Carlisle, Durhams dying a death and last time we visited Newcastle or Metro centre was 20 years ago, awful places. Mind about 5 years ago she asked for sex somewhere dirty - so I took her to Middlesborough. I knew the left footer I married one, round here there are some non mainstream Geordie sayings :- I'll give you wrong - means I'll tell you off, Has your budgie died - means your trousers are short, and I'm starving means I'm cold for some reason?? Signed 'Whees keys are these?'
  21. We haven't changed, we still like fighting, as much as our socialists and liberals try, and they do, our belligerence shines through, I think I read once that of all the (old) countries in the world theres only two we've never fought against. Our wealth under Victoria was immense, and were it not for two world wars we may have been the dominant nation into this Century, we're all looking forward to the next one Lol, it's too quiet.
  22. Funnily enough only last night I watched a programme on HBC (Hudson Bay Company) you take these things with a pinch of salt ,but there can be little doubt they were pivotal in forming the nation. We lovingly practiced our favourite sport, killing Frenchmen (but with bullets not bows), and building forts everywhere until we ruled, at that period we ruled most of the world and were thinly stretched hence USA independence eventually. I suspect there is truth in what Last Cold Beer said we were earning that much from the Eastern Empire that it wasn't worth pursuing the States and making them knuckle under. Much the same nowadays with oil, we'll interfere with any interruption in the flow and ignore worse countries without oil, times don't change.
  23.
