Why is Canada not part of the United States? Friendly Ending.

I think the real test of overconfidence in your own abilities and strength must go to Afghanistan, not one of the invaders has managed as far as I know, both in ancient and modern history, just watched Restreppo, a very sobering experience and a reminder of limitations politicians fail to grasp, look how many nations it's taking to defeat Islamic State. We may be the biggest, we may have the best technology but that does not guarantee you'll win, we tend to believe our own 'hype'. If you get the chance, talk to someone who's actually been in a recent war zone and fought, I have recently and it's a very different perspective to what we are told. As Beers said a bunch of farmers, who could shoot, almost defeated the best army in the world, we needed to invent concentration camps to demoralise them. America had Vietnam, we had Northern ireland both recent, neither of us won there did we, albeit for differing reasons but we lost, we have great troops but politicians stifle them, and are even jailing them for killing people (true). The ultimate farce was surely during the Northern Irish troubles when armed soldiers on duty at army barracks were not issued bullets for their guns, with inevitable consequences, let us hope the person issuing those orders sleeps soundly eh? They should be hung for treason. America and the UK have fought together for over 100 years, in our news today we have reaffirmed our commitment to this and abandoned Europe. Your new President very astutely has realised that Europe depends on us for defence but does not pay the cost, especially Germany, since the Second World War the States and UK have maintained the biggest armies and paid for them to be stationed in Europe against a Russian invasion, who are the fools - we are? The basic rule of fighting - win whatever it takes, forget that and you lose, then it's too late! Any of you out there actually in the services in Iraq/Afghanistan, what are your thoughts. -
Yes it will be a great shame when our local dialects die out, which they will of course in time, once 'we' (North Easterners) could pinpoint your place of birth by the slight change of 'twang' as you know but I notice this is getting harder to do. I live now in a place that used to be one of the broader dialects, but you notice it in the kids, the accent is not the same as their parents, diluted by TV and other kids at school born outside the area. PS we'll be shopping in Darlington tomorrow, wife loves it, one of the last town centres with non main stream shops and a market with great butchers, ditto Barnard Castle and Carlisle, Durhams dying a death and last time we visited Newcastle or Metro centre was 20 years ago, awful places. Mind about 5 years ago she asked for sex somewhere dirty - so I took her to Middlesborough. I knew the left footer I married one, round here there are some non mainstream Geordie sayings :- I'll give you wrong - means I'll tell you off, Has your budgie died - means your trousers are short, and I'm starving means I'm cold for some reason?? Signed 'Whees keys are these?'

We haven't changed, we still like fighting, as much as our socialists and liberals try, and they do, our belligerence shines through, I think I read once that of all the (old) countries in the world theres only two we've never fought against. Our wealth under Victoria was immense, and were it not for two world wars we may have been the dominant nation into this Century, we're all looking forward to the next one Lol, it's too quiet. -

Funnily enough only last night I watched a programme on HBC (Hudson Bay Company) you take these things with a pinch of salt ,but there can be little doubt they were pivotal in forming the nation. We lovingly practiced our favourite sport, killing Frenchmen (but with bullets not bows), and building forts everywhere until we ruled, at that period we ruled most of the world and were thinly stretched hence USA independence eventually. I suspect there is truth in what Last Cold Beer said we were earning that much from the Eastern Empire that it wasn't worth pursuing the States and making them knuckle under. Much the same nowadays with oil, we'll interfere with any interruption in the flow and ignore worse countries without oil, times don't change. -
My boy a bairn is a very young child or baby, a cuddy is a horse etc etc and you think you speak English? yea divvn't ye naaa? theres nowt like the Queens grammar, and SOB of course I know where Bowes is I've been there loads of times, I was referring to where you live, same place as my youngest sons girlfriend.

Pussies these southerners from Darlington, up here in the North we had to eat the bairns and dawgs to stay alive in recent snows, whats sunbathing????

About time, usually an imbecile making a fortune from nothing, then because they're rich thinking they are experts on world affairs and giving us advice, don't have time for many of them, few of them are really talented and the fortunes and laudits are way beyond what they are worth to society. We should be rewarding people like servicemen, policemen, medical staff and scientists etc. not these arseholes, people who do care and devote time, energy and sometimes their lives defending our freedoms and improving our lives. Instead so called celebrities are the kind of person you wouldn't piss on normally, they preach revolution but would shit themselves if it happened, bailing out to somewhere safe. We bought records because tv was in it's infancy and computers didn't exist, entertainment has progressed, music will remain but doesn't have the clout it once had. My kids don't buy music like I did, there are too many other things to do, I predict that new celebrities will emerge from Call of Duty, heroes to us all, I'm getting ready now! It is staggering to see how much money some one hit wonders made and certain groups earn more than most countries, sorry my sympathy is zero.

Ah when it comes to that she's one of the 'in' people, in bed, in one position, in the dark and infrequently !

Hell a woman that doesn't get headaches, tell me you drink beer, ride bikes and know how to shoot and I'll think a real angel has landed, now how long would it take to swim the North Atlantic??

At the moment playing COD, and getting hammered anything but rare , I must practice more, I must practice more, I must practice more, I must practice more, I must practice more, I must practice more, 10 hours a day is not enough, I love being retired don't you?
-
Zombie I think you are the leader, Mad Ha_ter you're a nice guy and a great player, you can kill me anytime!
-
Hi Sniper, let me know next time you're drunk so I have a chance of beating you lol, welcome friend.
-
Hi Bastos we're both 'newbies' enjoy playing with you, you're fun.
-
Funny how wives always seem to get 'headaches' I feel sick sometimes after COD when I'm hammered, but luckily it's rare!
-
Now hold on, don't be too hasty, this could be a very profound message that Nice Guy is trying to subtly pass to Spin, if you're old enough you'll remember all that crap with meditation and yogis from India.' What rhymes with orange' could be a reference to the de-foliating agent used in Nam, he may be telling Spin that he can't hide from him on the maps and he'll find him anyway. 'No it doesn't' could be a reference to other players saying 'is your gun working Spin' when they are puzzled why he is so easy to kill at times. You just have to think out of the box, now where's that other Guinness?

Hey 'Eustace' I'm very shy and teamspeak is a big step for a shrinking violet (English expression), my first game with my tags and I'm massacred, I'll cheer myself up with a one to one against Nacho, Ned and Sniper at the weekend - pussies! My four current bikes, I change regularly, my SV is extensively modified for where I live as you can see, trail bars and tyres, new lighter exhaust and rear seat removed, as well as these the greatest mod has been to replace the front fork springs to progressive with heavier oil, made a massive difference to handling would recommend this to any owner.
-
Thank you all, I made it and my new tags are now on, I'm a bit busy at the moment helping one of my sons at his house but should be back to normal next week as he's coming over to you to watch the wrestling??? I worry about that boy at times, look after him.
-
Poop how do you attach photos I tried and it froze??
-
Hi Poop, I've got an SV650 N (among others) it may be cheap but it's a great machine, thought all you boys out there rode these huge Harleys and Indians?? do they laugh at you? Everyone I talk to on this forum is a biker, lovely machines Harleys but no good for the roads where I live. Although we're not allowed pistols at all in the UK (retards as all the criminals have them) a friend of mine is a black powder guy and I got to fire one two years ago, those who used them for real in battle were hard hard men, when you see the size of those first rifled slugs used in the Civil War you can imagine being hit by one, no thanks I'll stick to COD. I used to work for my wife too, in the UK we call it marriage, a form of slavery that hasn't been abolished yet, I'm still in servitude, I'm busy today but look forward to killing you when you get up, us Brits like to catch you all sleepy, gives us a chance, I need it, I played some of the really good players the other night, there were seven of us (I was last) and it was so intense that I came out of the game exhausted, who says we don't exercise?? I presume 'doing your twenty' means you were in the forces? don't worry about retirement, as my old Grandad used to say 'as one door shuts another door opens', lovely man my old Grandad, but a crap submarine Captain! Right I'm off to watch Mountain Men, I still suspect that Eustace is Beers, sounds like him, North Carolina and eats roadkill, surely there can't be two???
-
You're all very welcome to return but don't forget to drink Tea, most of us like Mr Trump over here can we have him when you're finished? refreshing to see someone who's not a career politician and seems to put his own country first for a change, it may even catch on. A sure sign is that all these countries and people who bad mouth your country inexplicably want to live there??, mainly because they've made a mess of theirs, so give him a chance. I must say that talking to you all in games, your country is certainly now polarised to a degree, but simple fact about democracy a certain faction lose and because it doesn't go their way riot, the other side never ever do that, they accept a democratic process even when it doesn't suit them, my idea of democracy is the latter. Right enough politics on with the shooting and knifing. PS When you guys visit we see it so often you 'do Europe - (this is my experience with friends) you fly to London, then fly to Berlin then to Paris etc etc this is the equivalent of us doing New York, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles and saying we've seen America, no we haven't as you'll agree. The cities are not representative of their country, in fact generally they're the opposite, try to stay clear of the cities if you can and stay in the countryside, you'll enjoy it a lot more (unless you're 18).

Bastos if that picture is of you old son you're well on the way, all you have to do now is learn to fart!
-
Ghostie you truly are a pleasure to play with welcome, I like rum too, I've drank 2 litres a week for 40 years, thinking of upping consumption now I'm retired, please don't think London is England, go and see the rest of it before it's too crowded.
