Fascinating question which bothered me all my life. so fa and still does. I have read all the books of Stephan Hawking but didn't understand everything due to limited knowledge and intellect. I think know body will be able to give a definite answer and scientists are just not able to say "I don't know" All the theories about the big bang and the ever expanding universe after? Where did the material came from in the first place? Expanding in where if there was nothing before hand? RobMc is right. Ok, we do know black holes exist but how and why did they develop and where do they lead? Time and gravity is another factor! I think I will stop know as it blows my brain away.
