  1. Remember that when I play hiphop or some other obnoxious music late at night. I can no more control sound from crossing my property that you can control your bbq. Whatever happened to common courtesy between neighbors?
  2. Saritch hip fire isnt very good by design. Especially when you spray and pray like that. That is the trade off for having a highly accurate full auto weapon when you aim.
  3. Yup the saritch is a very good weapon when you aim. But compared to others in its class it sucks if you fire from the hip without steady aim. It also loses its ammo quickly if you spray. Scavenger is essential if you dont die all the time. That is the balance.
  4. Well, they do have a point in terms of smoke. Many places with air pollution problems do not allow wood burning fireplaces. Just gas. It hasnt happened here yet but it will. On cold nights when there is no strong wind to blow the smoke away (and over someone elses town) its like being near a forest fire. Because of wind patterns due to terrain, trees and the like, the chimney smoke from one of my neighbors often goes directly to the window of the house next door. Do they just say too bad and tell them to keep the windows closed? As always its a compromise. The whole thing about keeping smoke on the property is patently silly. But you also dont want your neighbor to be a total smoke generator where you have to keep your kids indoors because its too smokey for them to play outside. I am sure something can be worked out so everybody is fine with it. My guess is that the law itself was aimed at people that burn their trash in residential areas.
  5. Nope. Hit detection in the mod and the game itself is good. imo too good. Especially around the head. But that's not my call and game engine controlled anyways. However if people are having latency problems, or whatever else, then dont reflexively blame the mod. Also dont discount that people are simply getting better or adjusting their systems so they play better and thus makes it harder to hit them. Considering there are other posts complaining about certain players being too good then that kinda defeats the argument. Unless you want to call them hackers.

  7. I have been watching and 25 seems like the right number. At 15 seconds people are still joining. Seriously, this usually only happens once every 30 minutes and shouldnt be a problem. However I am thinking of ways to make it seem more like a countdown in a race instead of just a delay.

  10. Could have had a flak jacket. But it does call the same functions and methods as the airstrike. Of course that one has lots of little bombs with a small blast radius not just one big one. As-is, I wonder if its too good. From watching in game it seems to get a kill %90 of the time. Pretty good ratio if you ask me.
  11. It does explode a little bit above the ground by 16 units. Basically 1-2 feet in real world terms. This helps with situations were uneven terrain might affect the blast. As for nothing happening, you mean a direct hit to the head? Are you sure it hit it? Or was it just close? Bullet traces, used for scripted hit detection, ignore players in this case (others like sentryguns do not). Unless there is some strange situation where it actually explodes inside the player body. Which would be weird to say the least. As for how it calculates whether or not a player is hit, it uses the same code as cluster bomb airstrikes. So it does check for things like whether or not the player has a ceiling or other obstacle over his head. In which case damage is reduced 4X. When things work it is best to not reinvent the wheel.
  12. On server tests all seems to work fine with car, predator, reaper and betties/claymores. And yup the nuke still works. Hehe. Maybe you were seeing the inventory faded out.
  13. Ran it in-game on the main server. Both were still there after using the cars. Will try predator in a bit. So I dont know.

  20. Going to reduce it down to 25 and see. The number should be long enough to allow people to join and also enough time to change classes if needed. I know for some half a minute might seem like watching grass grow. But considering it takes 4 times longer to make a bag of popcorn it's not a lot to ask. Hell, it took me longer to write this post.
  21. I would prefer people have to wait an extra 15 seconds (up to 30)... one time per 30 minutes... and allow more people to get in. It's not like its Black Ops or any of the newer games. Nowhere near matchmaking.

  25. I think I will let it go until tomorrow to get more feedback after more people see it. But yea its a simple change. A lot will depend on the average time it takes for people to go from the last map to the next and choose their starting class. Not including map downloads. Could also give your team a little time to decide what to do when the match starts. Assuming you want to work as a team.
