If both name and picture were physically part of the images then yes they would have to be. In this case they are not. It is also a matter of where the icons are used. The streak ones are used in several places and removing them for text isnt feasible. I dont know what I would replace them with. There are a handful of materials here and there that arent really needed and just look nice. Like the blood splatter background on streak rewards. I dont think that one is used elsewhere. So I can remove those. The melee splatter ones also. I do like the effect but I dont know if it really adds much to the game.

Ok I need some opinions to help with maps not working. Please read: For image asset errors, like m_town, the problem is when I add goodies. Weapons, models, or hud elements. For example I need one for the stealth heli model and also another for the loadout menu, hud, and care package icon. So two of them in total. M32 for both the regular launcher but also the war machine. Duke icon for both him and commando. Stuff like that. But it all adds up. Ghost weapons have several but things like attachments use the same ones. So, for this kind of problem one or more images has to go. For m_town I dont know how much over budget it is. I would have do trial and error. Opinions: What things could be removed or combined so two things can use the same one. Maybe just using text to tell them apart. Some things, like care package icons, I cannot do text. Just for when you are in range. Not all ideas would actually help but its worth a shot.

Yea that one. The test server has the script fix and I just changed its rotation to the current one. The map seems to work there now.

Do you recall what the error was? powcamp_v2? edit: If so, seems to be the same problem that Overgrown had. Fixable.

Thing is, there are many great options. The fraghouse invasion mod for ut2k4 for example. Even some cod4 stock or custom gametypes. But its a matter of getting people to play it. That might mean special tournaments or matches. I dont know zark. Will have to look it up. edit: speaking of ut2k4, it has a freezetag mod. The first time I ever played that gametype actually.

Ah well. Still hard to beat good ol UT2K4 sniper servers. No they dont have the eye candy and the weapons are primitive by todays standards but fun.

Only thing that would bug me for that is the page file. Earlier I set it so my page file was on a secondary hdd but it caused boot problems several times. So right now I just let it do its thing automatically. Fortunately I was able to put cod4 on the hdd so as not to take up 50gb or more on the ssd. Lot of maps certainly but development needs a great deal of space also.
