  1. He's right. Nobody deserves a poo finger. Well, almost nobody.
  2. This is a first. Got my 'permission slip' so to speak to be outside in case I am pulled over by the cops. Something I never had to even consider before. Confucius say may you live in interesting times. We certainly are. Still, what are the cops going to do pull everybody over? All you would have to do is say you are grocery shopping.
  3. Sammy

    Yes hello

A convert from ESC? Joining the dark side? Welcome and have fun.
  4. Really hate to say it but an example of a stupid thing to do right now. Beneath my window an elderly woman is taking a slow walk... with her walker... aided by a visiting nurse to help her. The woman is taking a big risk going outdoors since she is among the highest risk population. But she does it anyways. Just to show that while the ever increasing number of infections is serious, how often is it because people are not using common sense to protect themselves?
  5. Maybe stop everything and just focus on Sally Struthers PSA's. ? All these people living paycheck to paycheck, well, no more paychecks. We have, I think, 10 people known to be infected in my entire county of nearly half a million. Yet we are all now on 'stay at home' orders. Also doesnt help when we have a governor openly saying 20 million people in this state will be infected based on 'projections'. Numbers dont lie, they say. But such numbers also assume they dont use garbage data to arrive at them or ignore things that dont support a desired outcome. If we all took basic precautions, avoided unnecessary travel, followed strict health and hygiene practices, and avoided doing things more likely to make others sick (all these things we ALL should be doing every flu season) then all of this would be manageable without drastic measures. That said, there are far too many people that dont do this either because they think it requires too much effort, cramps their style, or they dont care. It doesnt help with the double standard that says we are on a virtual lock down but its still ok for you to go out and use your skateboard so long as you stay 6 feet away from other people. In the end, I will take all such no-brainer precautions and such. Both for my health and for others. But call me when the living dead start walking around saying 'brains!!!!'
  6. Ouch. Clean, but probably wont be able to sit down for a week.
  7. Single ply or double ply?
  8. Is there a C/ option?
  9. Was in rite aid to ask about refills if things get worse. While there, someone called looking for TP. Are people afraid that no more will be produced? Many are treating this as the zombie apocalypse. If that were the case we are all fucked anyway so might as well enjoy ourselves.
  10. Well played.
  11. Tell us what you really think.
  12. You still have to dry your bum off tho. Wonder if I should invest in Toto. Maybe toilet/bidet combos will start taking off.
  13. Next, people will go to Staples and buy all the computer paper reams to use to wipe their asses with.
  14. Now thats funny. Where is the police escort?
  15. When a six pack of TP was only $1.50. How times have changed.
  16. Wow. I have never heard it this quiet outside on a weekday except for christmas day or thanksgiving day.
  17. Got mine at Amazon many years ago. Actually two. First one for the Mac and the next one later on for PC. Buying via Steam... or one of its competitors... has its benefits and drawbacks. Strictly speaking, nobody has ever owned a game. Just a license. Even all those free Linux games are under license. You can do whatever you want, with limitations and/or requirements, but dont own them. At best, you own a piece of plastic. Of course with Steam you dont even own the plastic. ? So if you did lose that piece of plastic, but kept the license, you could borrow another piece of plastic from a friend and reinstall the game. The one thing I dont like is that too often you cant transfer the license from the CD to digital. That's a money grab.
  18. I suppose its just premature to take overly drastic measures on this scale. Certainly nationally. Are we going to do this every time some new flu makes the rounds? Maybe every year January to March should be considered shutdown season?
  19. This is just total panic by our so-called leaders. Its almost like they are all one-upping each other in how much they do panic on an hourly basis. The winner is the one that panics the most. https://techcrunch.com/2020/03/16/bay-area-counties-announce-lockdown-through-april-7/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Techcrunch+(TechCrunch)
  20. Anybody hoarding in minecraft yet?
  21. Your list did not include the 40k that die per year from gun violence in the US. Men, women and children. 110 per day. You can have serious health problems or never caught a cold in your life. Since two weeks ago that is 1,500 people. Get rid of guns to save all these people? Require guns to be quarantined and never be taken outside of your home? Nope. Seems while we should be able to force families to remain in their homes at all times when just one of them is sick we cant do that with guns for *ANY* reason whatsoever. That 40k are simply the price we pay. Well, whatever. Its an old and tiresome argument nobody will ever win and most people are tired of debating anyway. Back to my videogames for me. But this time? The price of 100 dead is much too high, we must declare state and national emergencies, and shut down the entire country. Oh and we must panic and hide in fear every time some gang banger gets shot up in Detroit. Better go stock up on bandaids in case we get shot too. Oh and bottled water in case our tap water gets contaminated or shut off. In which case we will all stink of BO in a matter of days and some might die from the smell. ?
  22. The various financial bodies of the world are trying to somehow stem the tide of economic collapse. However every time they do something the reaction is that they must know something the rest of us dont and that we are closer to the end. Like there is some sort of Illuminati conspiracy. I hate to say it, but perhaps we would have been better off if they did exactly nothing at all and said 'Remain calm, all is well." Of course there are the eventual conspiracy theories. The latest is that this was all intentional by certain people in the US sending the virus to China. Since a lot of us are dumb as bricks a percentage will buy it. Long term might be interesting to see attitudes about people that get sick. If you are, should you be forced to stay home from work for a short while at least until the worst has past? Since we need to pay the bills we load up on flu medicine so we dont feel like shit and go. However if we as a people want to change it to where staying home is a requirement, by the employer or the state, then we must deal with their financial issues. Once upon a time it was called paid sick leave. These days, you are lucky to get it at all. Of course the rebuttal to that is always that its too expensive and people will be laid off. Well, choose one. If you think its too expensive, then accept that either you may get sick from those that came to work or if you are the one that is sick you might infect others. On the other hand, if you chose to require sick people to stay home then you must help them until they are no longer infected themselves.
  23. Right now, you are more likely to see an alien than toilet paper.
