Headset for gaming and TS. What are you using?
Sammy replied to Purrlicious's topic in Computer Help
Turtlebeach Z22. Works great for game audio and music. The earpads are fabric. However the thin covering on top isnt very sturdy and even with careful use its coming off showing the foam or whatever it is underneath. So eventually I suppose I will have to cut some color tape to fit and hope it will look decent and stick. -
Resurrecting an old topic but thanks.

5.8? Thats it? Try an 8.9. Now that was an earthquake.

Quite a few differences but the main ones you will immediately see are not the alternate weapons but significant gameplay differences. The settings are taken directly from before in the old server. Nothing was changed. So a few notes: Many of the old bugs will likely still be there. Buts its been a long time so I dont remember what they are. You only have one streak at a time. Use the standard streak button to activate ('6' in stock). Also, use it or it wont upgrade (I think). Player speed and jump height are slower and lower. In general, gameplay is slower and more tactical in nature. Spawn protection shorter. No timer. No EMP defrost. ACR disabled so the server hopefully wont crash because of it. Regular defrost is faster. I dont know if you can defrost two people at once (proximity + 'use' button). 'Frozen' overlays so its harder to see. Perk 1 is the old style with C4 and the rest. So no extra 'inventory' loadout option. A few streak options not included. Explosives have a 'spawn delay'.

Why would you choose that over two clays or betties?

Does the steam version allow mods? Surprised the retail version is $30+ still.

Beginning to get pissed off

Making a short post here since its somewhat on topic from previous posts. A thought occurred to me that I *might* try for fun. Add to 'hacker,' since it seems most appropriate, the ability that it would fool enemy uav defrosters into thinking you are an enemy. Similar to how you can hack turrets but it would only apply to yourself. Would only take a few script additions and nothing permanent. It might introduce an interesting element since in larger games there are quite a few of them. If your team is down you change perk 3. However that means you give up hardwired while you have hacker. And we know how people love hardwired and few really use hacker for sentries and clays. To have a real effect in the game everyone on the losing team (down 15-5 etc) would have to change to it for the duration. Unlikely to happen. -
Nice to see Karen Gillan moving further up from the Dr Who days in major productions. Was a pretty good bald blue female villain also and cut off all her hair to do it.

Not a tidbit. Should be well known here since I have said it many times along with how everything else in the mod works. If people read the topics about it. edit: Since the RPG is stock, with no changes, its better to think of the smaw as 1/2 of standard. -
Should a run and gunner with a score of 50-9 have a higher priority than a sniper with 10-2? What if 25 of those kills was because you were ultra lucky and got a tacnuke in a care package? What if you are 50-9, but only have 5 defrosts, while another is 9-50 but has 30 defrosts? How do you weight that? Is the number of kills more important? Or is defrosting? Now you see how using value judgements like that is a lose-lose. Total time played is the only thing that is fair across all players. The other option I suppose is admin choice only with no auto redirect. But then you get into value judgements by different admins on who should be kicked. They wont be the same. Like whether or not you are glitching. Best to pick something fair but keep it out of the hands of personal value judgements.
-
Ok, here is how it works: Its total time played just not in the last 30 days. And yes deleting a profile resets your stats. Nor is it rank because it also benefits players with the most kills... or in this case also defrosts... over a set period of time. We have tried different methods of auto redirect and this way is the most fair to everybody. Otherwise if its kills then run and gunners have an inherent advantage over everybody else especially snipers. They also tend to suffer the greatest number of deaths but using K/D promotes camping. Another, someone that maybe only got 5 kills in two rounds (raising my hand) would have less priority than someone that got 10 in five minutes because of grenade spam. Do you include streak kills. Another thing that benefits r&g and camping. Tried different weights between them all to get some kind of combined score but then its a question of which one has more priority and everybody has a different opinion. For non-clan members there is one balance to keep in mind. Spectators not on a team have a large 'negative' score so to speak so they have the lowest priority and kicked before anybody else. Clan members are exempt from this. The time played stat also doesnt increase for spectators. Only if you are in the game playing. Time played on the server, and spectating, does apply if all players currently in the server are clan members. We tried redirecting to the other server but players didnt stay long. They preferred a full server somewhere regardless of the mod.

My current phone is a very old nokia flip-phone. And I mean old, not the high-tech version of old where things go obsolete in 2 years. Before there was such a thing as 'G'. Just never had a reason to spend the money for an upgrade.

I would check with them again about unlocking. iphone 6 is eligible. So long as your contract was up it should be ok. edit: https://www.sprint.com/legal/unlocking_policy.html

For broadcast? Nothing other than remaking the map. Way too many models.

SMAW is a rocket launcher as a companion to the RPG. However its far more accurate and faster. The drawback is that its explosive radius is 1/2 of an RPG. For poison bullets, if you get hit, be sure to use your medkits to heal yourself. Also note that players with the medic perk are immune. -
The mod setup on this server is admittedly arcade-like in how it plays. Not anything close to tactical realism. Not like the stock game either. Has been for a very long time. Players can run a little faster than normal. They also dont suffer from the default 'slowdown' when double jumping. Which is probably enabled on the other servers you play on. Put those together and the usual predictability with standard settings on countering bunnies isnt the same here. Also means players used to servers with no slowdown dont play as well on servers that do have it. That is to be expected. Never explored the option but in the past thought of turning off the slowdown effect via a perk. Or maybe adding it to lightweight. Everybody uses the default setting unless they choose it. But I knew that would go over with a very large thud. Would certainly make things more interesting however. Do you rely on bunny hopping so much that you would spend a perk on it. And which perks would you give up to get it. I love getting players out of their comfort zones so your comment that this mod is not like all the others is a compliment.

In this case she was possibly taken in by a phishing scam claiming to be tech support with the usual foreign accents. There was also an 'invoice' text file on the desktop with her address on it. No idea how they got her address nor how they got the file on her computer. She did buy a couple things on ebay recently from sellers with little history. Maybe they are part of it. Changed a bunch of passwords and going to continue scanning to look for any new malware that hasnt been found yet. Right now she has avast and anti-malwarebytes. Also got another invoice email from them with a link to click to see it. Advised her to ignore it and hopefully it wont go any further other than emails.
-
Yea I can use her existing computer and I will keep those distros in mind in case I need to do it. However in this case it wouldnt have helped because it seems the scam was based on some well known phishing emails telling people that their account pwds were changed and with a fake callback number. Which is what she called. Did the usual scan for malware and viruses and nothing found. ATT itself when I talked to them said no changes were done to the account recently. From what I understand they just try and trick you into thinking something is wrong and demanding money to 'fix it'. Or a 'billing address' to send a bill to. Thankfully when the part about money came up she knew it was a fraud and didnt do that. But hopefully it will sink in more that when unexpected emails like that come in to do nothing and call me first. Unfortunately she once in awhile does some things online that is unsafe and its hard to get her to adopt safe practices. Try to remind her the rule that if they dont need to know who you are then dont tell them.

BF *was* for men. Then BF3 came along.

Quite happy with the smaw. Compared to the rpg its deadly accurate at farther ranges. It does the same damage. However its radius is only 1/2 the size of an rpg. So like the saritch it benefits aiming.
