1Tigerlily reacted to Painsponge in New server location
I am not excited about the server move as I live in Grand Rapids, MI. I do believe it is fair that some people will enjoy lower ping numbers as to their locations. I have myself enjoyed a nice warm ping of 45 on my best night.

I am a driving instructor. I teach and evaluate workers from large corporations who have fleets of vehicles. We teach emergency maneuvers as well as skid control. These corporations get quite a substantial insurance discount as long as we keep the incidents down. I do also teach the regular students such as teens, foreigners and adult students. My education is Personal fitness training which I still do as a second job. People actually pay me to go to their houses and beat the crap out of them, physically that is, usually lawyers and doctors...Lots of fun!

I first graduated with a degree in Biology, but 4 years of university life did not seem enough so I enrolled in Radiology. After several years of working in the US, I eventually moved back to Western Canada and the City of Calgary.
I worked my way from being a team leader and supervisor to eventually a clinical manager for a private Radilogy firm here in Alberta. After over 20 plus years in this field I have no regrets. I work with an amazing group of staff and techs and my employer gives me the luxury of having as much time off as I wish.
Its never a dull days for me the girls I work with always make it fun.

Started in 1978 at Durr Systems in Michigan, a German based company and worldwide supplier of automotive paint systems. They provide everything form the electrostatic primer bonding, robot painting booths and ovens and the carriers that run the autos through them. After one year as a production worker, transferred into control panel shop as an electrical worker and I loved it (might say I "discovered electricity"). Started school and eventually transferred to electrical engineering group. In 1984 they started an automation and industrial washing division and been there ever since at a few different locations in SE Michigan. Was supervisor in 1994 until 1995, but resigned since it wasn't for me and they allowed me to return to engineering. DEsigned and built a lot of macines since then! However, last week my supervisor gave his notice and I was asked to step in, at least as interim boss (I couldn't say no a third time), so Monday starts a new chapter with the company I've been with all my life. Fortunate enough to have travelled worldwide (but not too much, thankfully). In fact, I go to Germany again for ten days in March. Below are a links to my present employer and "mothership" companies:

I was an insurance broker for 30 years, then sold my portion of the business to my brother and his sons 4 years ago. Since then I fell into another career as a curator for a natural history museum that is being built in Silicon Valley. I wish I would have gotten into this gig before insurance. It's a lot more fun.

I'm a mechanic. I love engine building but hate having to fix water leaks and dash board rattles.
This is me fighting with a Nissan pickup to remove the engine.
And this is why, it's never good when a con rod comes out the side of the block

I'm Office and Personnel Manager at Vanderbilt Chemicals in Murray KY. We make rubber accelerators that go into everything rubber except tires (helps the rubber cure faster), additives for industrial oils and greases (to keep things from oxidizing), additives for paints (to help them dry faster), and we also process bentonite ore to go into pharmaceuticals and things like toothpaste and makeup. I do all the personnel work, payroll, insurance, accounting work, purchasing, etc... We just completed a $35 million expansion.
