I will close this thread now with a highlight of what @@EDD THE DUCK has said. The following is my opinion alone. I do feel that many of you have maybe jumped the gun and instead of trusting in the admins to make the right choice have thrown threats around and gone a little over the top. The original post did not say that a server would be removed but was made with the concern of server populations. We will not remove servers unless you members wish them. I hope that you know that our admins are passionate to have the best servers and go to great lengths to maintain them.

Oh FFS. Just as I post that the server started pinging again. Services are starting up again now, shouldn't be too long before everything is back online.

Just as an update even though nothing has changed. The server had a DDOS attack against it to which the data centre decided that the best course of action would be to null route the IP address(es). We are still awaiting the null route to be removed.

@@JohnnyDos Not just aimed at you but to clarify to all. Donations are not an issue and we don't need to reduce servers to cover costs. We are not stupid about it either and are not here to waste money on servers with little traffic. We have moved around six of the COD2/4/5 servers which do not have as much traffic to a dedicated server which equates to removing the monthly fees. Now it is obvious that the suggestion of removing this server has caused allot of people some stress and that should be evident to the admins. At this time I think it best that you give the BF4 admin team a chance to have a look through the comments here and assess the decision again. I would like it if we kept the 'bickering' to a minimum and approached this rationally.

I just clicked the isleaked.com one for the first time.. my AV is showing it as 'hosting malware' so yeah - doubtful it's genuine.

Both services look to me like phishing services to get email addresses for a mailing/spam list. I would advise people not to use them.

If you are being forced to use the download from the server rather than the redirect then there is possibly a file difference between the two. e.g the server is running a different version of the map than what is on the redirect. In this case we need the names of the maps to do a comparison.

Not really a mess. Mojang owns Bukkit and has done for two years. They have had little/no involvement in it since purchase, it looks like they will now be acting in supporting it.

Run PB Setup for Legacy games, let the updater update itself. Close the updater. Copy and replace the pbgame.htm from the updater download archive to the updaters directory. Run updater again, this time game will stay and allow update. Then run pbsvc.exe from either game directory or download from PB website.

The XlrStats website has been updated and many bugs have been fixed. All areas should now be working correctly. All the servers that can run XlrStats are running the stats and all the configs have been updated on the website so it's all visible. Some servers were reset recently so may not show any data yet.

We are talking about a ping change here that is faster than your eye can blink. The change has happened and couldn't really be helped. We have other servers in different data centres you could try, if they are not up to your standards then I can only suggest moving house.

If you are referring to the most recent change, I am not sure how/why as the move was within the same data centre. Anyway I see nothing wrong with those pings..

I will claim the servers later on GameTracker - unfortunately there are not enough free hours in a day to do it all in one Naturally changing the IP means that the players drop whilst people relearn the IP. @@Sonovabich There is a overlap is all.

Yeah for three years I have been at university and all the American lot refer to it as either 'school' or 'college'. I have told them in the past that it is different here but they ignore that. If someone in the UK told me I was 'going back to school' I would think they were being sarcastic or rude. Finishing college in the UK is equivalent to finishing senior year at high school in the US. Then our university is equivalent to their college. But where is the US university? well it seems that's only used for when someone is post-graduate studying at a college. Essentially though they refer to everything as school.
