I live in an open carry state. Meaning you can openly carry a weapon as long as its visible. Do people do so ? Not really. When I was in my youth, we would walk with our rifles or shot guns anywhere and it was not even an issue. But I live in farm country so it was a normal thing. Our local farm co-op allowed us kids to come down and shoot crows to rid them of these and other pesky critters. We were also allowed out of school for the first day of hunting seasons. Starting at age 10. I've been teaching my gkids proper gun handling and we target shoot when we can. Now we are a concealed carry state too. Many carry that way. That requires training courses and a license. Our state has on the ballots to make it so you do not need a license to conceal. Im on the fence on that one. The carry class is easy and fun to complete. And costs around $120. And they do a background check. But I see the other side of it too. Criminals will carry no matter what, so why punish us law biding citizens with a license to carry. But its a one day class and you get to shoot all day !!! Fun fun !!

I can relate to the limit for kids. Children need to get out and play. Learn to hunt, fish, do woodworking, swim, play ball, etc.. But this should be a parental decision. Im going to dig them out. The early ones have just drawings/paintings. 1988 to 2012. I have the Apollo landing issue that has a flexible record still in it (my favorite). I believe all have the included maps and inserts. In my youth that's how we all learned about different cultures and anything science related. The good old days.
