The "Age of Entitlement." We are living in it to be sure. Many kids today believe everything should be given to them, as do many adults. It kills me to watch these vulture lawyers and child 'experts' keep pushing our society further into the toilet. Here is a list of my kids entitlements: 1. You are entitled to Love (without limits, you are always my kid. Hugs are included in this) 2. You are entitled to feel safe at home (we will discipline you with love, not anger) 3. You are entitled to respect, and to give respect (a must) 4. You are entitled to go to school and actually learn (If you don't want to, see item 6) 5. You are entitled to have time to do things together (you won't be raised by the TV or Xbox) 6. You are entitled to discipline. (I'm you're dad, not your best buddy. My job is to train you to become independent). 7. You are entitled to work if you want something, not to expect it to be given to you (want a car, earn a car) 8. You are entitled to good role models at home. It's worked out well for us as we have a large family, cemented together by God, that has chosen to stay close together. I love technology, but there are some things better done the old fashioned way. That's my rant!
