You know, after reading all of the reactions to lilgreasy's post and thinking about it for the last day or so, Ive come to the conclusion that tubes should be left they way that they are. Everybody has their own style of playing. I take the game very seriously and compete fiercely when playing but many people simply play for laughs and to have fun and clearly couldn't care less where they place at game's end. The last clan that I was in ran a pretty strict DM run & gun server that didn't allow camping or rifle nades. This gave me a bias coming into XI and it has made it hard for me to open my mind up to playing styles other than balls-out competition. A rifle nader here & there doesn't bother me. A bunch do. Its no big deal to sit out a map that I don't like and likewise it's no big deal to drop out until the map population is more to my liking. God knows we have a BUNCH of other servers to play on in the interim.

Bourbon Whiskey and Coke is my poison. Old Grand Dad is probably my favorite. And even though it technically isn't bourbon, Jack Daniels No.7 is a close second for me.

A "Rocket Arena" rifle-nade/rockets only server would be wild but the novelty would probably wear off quickly.

Actually, I tried using rifle nades couple of weeks ago and wasn't having fun. It felt lame to me. I'm just an old school run & gunner I guess. Unlike many other people though, I don't want to see rifle nades taken out of the game, just tweaked back a bit. I'm surprised that my suggestions of simply toning down nades and not outright banning them as others have suggested has drawn so much fire. LOL! The gameplay dynamic in the COD4 Ace Mod has changed dramatically over the past couple of months because of the numbers of people using rifle nades as a primary weapon. That is the main reason for the whining lately I think . The server isn't what it used to be as a result. If the majority of people are OK with that, then so be it. There's always the COD5 DM server which is primarily populated by run & gun players.

My main problem with tubes in COD4 Ace Mod is the accuracy and range. Add to that the 5 or so rounds you get with it and it totally dominates gameplay. If they were more realistic where you'd have to "bloop" them at a target and you only had say 2 rounds, it would be a whole different story.

I think Shamu must be a tuber. LOL! Don't take it personal Shamu. Everybody doesn't like something about the games that they play online. No big deal.

Haven't seen it yet. Does it warn you if you are carrying a sniper rifle?!?

"EXCESSIVE" rifle nading in COD4. I really don't have that much of a problem with a rifle nader or 2 in a heavily populated map, but when 4-6 people are doing it, it totally dominates gameplay on the map. I am sure that some decide to use them simply because they are being savaged by nades themselves. I think that they are armed with 4-5 nades also and they hit where you aim them which allows them to use them exclusively as a primary weapon in COD4. In COD5, you only get 2 and you have to earn rifle nades by completing challenges with a bolt action rifle and the nades aren't real accurate so you don't have a lot of it going on there. I'd like to see it limited to 2 rifle nades and if possible lower the accuracy so that they have to be "blooped" at a target like you have to do with the real ones. Just my opinion. I think that the balance is far superior in COD5 DM when it comes to rifle nading.

Gotta be Larsin. I've been playing against him for years. He has lightning fast reflexes and plays a very smart game. I have spec'd him numerous times and I try to use many of his tactics but I can't come close to his death to kill ratio on a consistent basis as he can. The guy is simply one of only 2 players I can think of that is that good. Trolloc is the other one back when I used to play COD2 years ago.

And for what it's worth, my uncle was in the 501st regiment of the 101st Airborne division and got half of his face blown off from an airburst in the Ardennes forest outside of Bastogne in January 1945 while trying to push the Germans out of Belgium during the Battle of The Bulge. He carried that reminder with him until he died in 1982. Those kids saw a lot of atrocities and sometimes didn't give any quarter to the enemy upon surrender. War isn't pretty but they sure as hell contributed in a large way to chasing the Germans out of Belgium. I sure hope that his sacrifice is remembered and not whether or not he may have busted a cap in an unarmed German that would have killed him if given half a chance.
