  1. I know what you mean Mick. I have been playing COD4 less and less over the past 2 months for that very reason. Map quality has gone down a lot in my opinion and WAY too many camping-style maps for me. Everyone has their preference I guess but Im drawn to classic run-and-gun types of maps like we were primarily running for a long time.
  2. I love it!! He is making the point that mandating people to by health care insurance under penalty of law is ridiculous. If the government can make you buy a service or product there is no limit to what they can force you to do.
  3. Sounds good. I've really enjoyed rediscovering this game so far, both MP on the >XI< server and SP against bots. If I'm not there it's because I'm dead.
  4. Yeah, I'm having big issues with some of the map downloads also. I have bailed out several times and just played against bots because of it. I hope that it can be fixed. Other than that, I really am enjoying it. I love the speed that it is set at.
  5. Looking forward to it. I haven't played UT3 online in a couple of years. It could be a blast.
  6. Looks like a Barrett-like design. Very nice. Rounds cost about $5 a shot?
  7. Really sorry to hear about your sister Hoots. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  8. Gorilla is absolutely correct. Also, it is my understanding that only about 2% of the adult population in states where there are liberal carry laws ever apply for permits and of those permit holders, many are not carrying much of the time. It is the PERCEPTION that your possible victim might be carrying a gun and ruin your plans as well as your day that often deters the bad guys. An armed society is a polite society! LOL! What Europeans as well as Canadians have a hard time wrapping their head around is the notion that many of us here in the US consider it OUR duty and responsibility to protect ourselves from the bad guys. An armed intruder here thinks twice about breaking into a house when people are home because they just might get their head blown off whereas in a society where he is sure that the homeowners have been disarmed by the state they are emboldened to commit "hot" breakins and god help the poor slobs that live there that are at the mercy of the thugs. I have multiple loaded firearms in my home. I probably will never have to so much as point one of them at a human being but if the situation arises I will protect myself and my family/property with lethal force. The police certainly can't and won't protect you. They investigate crimes after they happen.
  9. Back on subject...I feel your pain StormCrow. The scary thing about political correctness is that there seems to be no limit to it. It will escalate as long as the population being subjected to it tolerates it. Hopefully people in your country will get fed-up and start voting these people that propose bans like this from the public air waves out of office in droves. Next they will do the same with CD sales, books, etc... Scary how fast things have degraded in just 25 years since Dire Straits wrote that song (which was a HUGE hit for them). Wow.
  10. I almost always come out of spawn running so I have no spawn protection. I am frequently killed in a couple of seconds by campers (not necessarily spawn campers) as a result.
  11. I love Joe Walsh. I was a big fan of his back in th early 70's "James Gang" days.
  12. Hey Aflac! Good to see you on the forums and it was like old times playing with you today on COD5 DM. See you on the field.
  13. Back in the late 1990's-2000 I played Delta Force online a lot and my handle was "SteakKnife" (I used the CQB perk a lot which allowed you to run very fast when armed with a knife). People were always referring to me as "Steak" for short when typing messages to me and I got so used to being called Steak that I decided to shorten it. It originally didn't have anything to do with meat.
  14. I'm definitely interested if they include Deathmatch mode.
  15. Couldn't agree more about the current map rotation. I rarely play more than 2-3 maps anymore. Many of the newer ones don't meet the usual quality that we normally run in my opinion. Do we rotate them monthly?
  16. The Ruger Mark II can be broken down in a few seconds with a large paperclip used to flip out the pin in the grip's rear. There is also a little trick you have to perform to get it back together properly. The Ruger SP-101 is very controllable with light .357's but I keep it loaded with .38+P hollow points most of the time. If I was to carry it I would use .357's. My favorite round though has to be the .45 ACP. I shoot better and more comfortably with that caliber for some reason than with any other and it packs a whollop due to it's relatively slow muzzle velocity and heavy bullet weight.
  17. This is my latest collection of handguns. I've probably bought and sold about 15 over the past 30+ years. My latest is the Ruger SP-101 snubbie .357 revolver.
  18. Yeah, got to agree with you ENG4INE. I personally would LOVE to have the Kimber Gold Match II in stainless or the Springfield Trophy Match.
  19. JohnnyDos I think you guys in the USA would become sick to your stomachs if you couldn't get your big bad toys. What you would have is an armed revolution in this country if the government here attempted to nullify the 2nd amendment of our Constitution. There are well over 100 million guns in the hands of citizens here and a significant percentage would react with maximum beligerance in my opinion. As to Bushape's question as to what to carry concealed, it comes down to size, stopping power & reliability. I used to have a .380 Walther PPKS. Very slim, very concealable but little knockdown power and it jammed very easily which made it about as reliable as a rock after the 1st shot. I looked long and hard and decided to go with a good, old-fashioned wheel gun. I bought a Ruger SP-101 .357 5 shot snub nose. It's a bit heavy but is built like a tank. Recoil is very controllable and I can run .38 special, .38+P and .357's through it and it never jams. Something to consider.
  20. Great one Trolloc! I love that classic scene from the original Full Metal Jacket.
