I want to take out my  system Hard drive out of my tower and install in a different tower with a different MOBO...Will i have to reformat the hard drive.. I am running win 7 pro 64 bit ...

I am doing this because of the video card problems i have had in post from aprox. last week.

It might work 1 of the 20 times! if you run the computer by the first start in Save Mode. It depends if that other motherboard has the same chipset onboard, but NO guarantee at all. Plus your Windows activation can act up again and fail.

It might be better to buy a new drive and have your old one next to the new OS install.

Most games and programs are depending on the registry of your 'old' Windows.

I think you end up with re-installing again.

What I do with re-installing windows is to install for example COD4, patch it up and copy and past from the old drive to the new location. So that I have my settings and maps and all.

If you have a empty drive and don't want to mess up your Windows to test in the other hardware is to Clone your drive to the other, to not mess up with new driver detection of that other motherboard/hardware.

I can imagen that and I wish you good luck! If you need something like a clone program, let me know and I can send that by XFire, when I am online a bit later.

Again, good luck!
