It has a wattage calculator to help power supply choices. If your going to build new. update or have problems (like DramaLLama) check this site.

Choose your set-up  parts from drop downs and viola! suggested power supply! Multiple cpu, multiple video card, multiple cd/dvd drives..........very comprehensive listing.

P.S. Glad I opted for an 850 watt!

These calculators aren't bad, but they overestimate a little.

That being said, because aging components aren't producing as much power, a PSU with some EXTRA wattage is always a good thing...

 

A 850 Watts is the way to go for most rigs with a single GFX card or SLI medium to high-end cards. If you want to SLI BEASTS like GTX580s, then a 1000 watts is better...

other is AC~ power source when getting into high wattage systems

 

use a power conditioner like smart-UPS and a dedicated power line from fusebox

 

also if power drops your still playing and protects from brown-out
